Where "Love Is Blind" Season 2 Went Wrong

I came to this video to watch a review on LIB from a marriage therapists persective, I left learning a lot about myself and what I didnt realize I liked in relationships. This is eye-opening!!!

I love Iyanna and Jarrett but I'm biased because my name sounds exactly the same as Iyanna's! I was so in awe of how she was able to grow and come out of her trauma and be strong yet vulnerable 💪🏼 I've had some trauma as well and it can be hard sometimes not to just let the dark thoughts take over but I feel like seeing her in this show was a reminder from the Universe that I can live a good life too 🌱🌱🌱🌱

I believe Shayna and Kyle was not due to religion but that she didn't like him. Because she said it a few times and also, Shane was not a religious person either.

I LOVE Ayanna! I did not love Mallory. Ayanna was a mature, feisty nurturing WIFE. And I could tell she's been that type of woman all her life. Mallory is the type of chick that is used to a lot of compliments from men and makes sure she is masterful in realms that men frequent, like sports. I have known women in my life like that. She reminds me of the dude from Season 3 who pubs his looks and fitness so much. I do believe Jarrette cared about Ayanna as a human being and was relieved that she was beautiful when he saw her. However, I do think he settled for her because he couldn't have the one he really wanted, who he CRIED over. Players will do that. They will be head over heals in love with a woman who likes just as much attention from the opposite sex as they do, and might cheat on them, but will marry a woman who is a homebody and loyal to them, moreso than being their ideal love partner. smhsmhsmh I love this show too.

Hello again! I really didn't think Shana was physically attracted to Kyle. I believed she wanted to stay on the show longer to check Shane out. And she downplayed some of her toxic ways too, which was weird. I think Kyle remained delusional about a possible connection between them when, honestly I couldn't see her getting over his ears and obvious ethnicity. I don't think she was the swirl type, nor would her family embrace such. Natalie and Shane was like a frail pet and its keeper to me. Like, there was NOTHING sexy about them but a friendship vibe. Now, I really came on here to see what your perspective is about Cameron and the sister he married. I have/had mixed feelings about them the entire scope of their relationship because of her being obviously emotionally unavailable to a man who was so open racially and expressive and affectionate and giving. Peace.

I am so glad you spoke correctly about Deepti. I total hate Shake, but I feel she also was tolerating him so that she could satisfy the Indian culture aspect of it. And I think he also was marrying her for the same reasons. Which is very prevalent in our culture that you marry for the society. You marry for your relatives you marry to make everyone else happy besides you.

As a South Asian person myself I literally have the same view of Deepti as you do!! I'm with a white man and we are happily together. In my single days though I did ponder what it would've been like to be with another South Asian person. I'm bisexual too so I've gone on dates with South Asian women. Well anyways yeah I related to Deepti in that sense although I avoided a lot of toxic men in my culture as they were similar to Shake. Kinda wish Deepti could've just waited out for a better man instead of just taking an opportunity with any South Asian man.

Shayna clearly needed someone to share her religion with BUT it seemed very clear to me she was not attracted to Kyle physically at all and very attracted to Shayne. I was so disappointed of her telling Shayne his relationship with Natalie was fake and trying to play herself off like just a concerned friend… she just makes up whatever narrative fits to justify what she wants and makes her feel better about herself. In fairness though- to admit you are not attracted to your partner in this process makes you a total villain so I could see why you would want to spin a different story.

Shaina didn’t continue with the engagement because Kyle was not attractive to her. The way she looked at him in the reveal said it all, she didn’t want to kiss him. Shane and Shaina would flirt a lot and had sexy conversations in the pods. They only connected in that way. She definitely wanted to stay on the show then made it about religion.

I love this so much. I feel Jarrette did propose to Mallory. That’s my stance on it haha.

They literally put fat women on the show just to fuck with men and somehow empower them. Even in a pod the fat girls didn't get picked. Wonder why that is 🤔 but Mark was too short for Jessica and Kyle was too short for Shaina. 🤔 Wait.... Where was Diamond in regards to Carlton's issues? She left. I think Jarrett and Mallory would have been a great match. It's sad that it didn't work out with either of the partners they chose and they could have had each other. I do think the editing downplayed their connection

The thing with Shake is that he doesn't respect women and his physical desire is directly connected with objectifying the other person. When he finally connected with a women he liked and respected, he kept comparing her with his mom, aunts etc. which is of course a turn off. It's not just about being shallow, he had his entire desire shaped around unhealthy dynamics.

Shaina wasn't attracted to Kyle. Danielle was something else w Nick. Shake...ummm how do you even tackle that? Apparently the edit made him look a lot nicer than he was IRL. Iyanna and Jarett- he had no feelings about her, just saw her as the strong black woman trope. Natalie and Shane- whoosh. I dunno. That was a lot. Shane was really insecure and it manifested in bad ways.

Yes. When I first got with my ex, he was not my physical type. But he was very persistent in letting me know his intention was to date me. I did eventually end up falling for him, and I can remember the first time I thought to myself, "You know, his eyes are gorgeous, and he has a great smile." I ended up finding him very handsome, and I wouldn't just say that to stroke his ego (we're not together anymore, obviously, since I referred to him as my ex lol). I think being in love with someone can make them more attractive in your eyes.

Just started viewing the show. My fav is Iyanna and Jarrett. Least favourite is Shake and Deepti, he's too superficial and she's not his type.

Maybe Shaina could have gotten past the religion thing, if she had actually been attracted to Kyle. I understand that's not the point of the show, but that's now two big hurdles to overcome.

It didn't really occur to me that your love language is how you ACCEPT love too, not just how you give it. Someone told me their love languages were physical affection and words of affirmation and I assumed that was what he would give. I didn't realize that that is what he wanted back as well. Meanwhile I'm a gift person. Giving and receiving gifts is how I feel loved and give my love to others. I'm not good at expressing my feelings so I try to do it by giving things. I would never have been a good match with that guy because I shy away from contact early on until I'm comfortable with a person, and I'm more critical than I am complimentary but that doesn't mean I don't care about you. But in this case we probably wouldn't have really understood how best to make the other person feel cared for so it wouldn't have worked unless we figured that out and learned to accommodate it.

Coming back here and you were on the money about Jarrette.

I would love to see a breakdown of Pedro and Chantel from 90 day and The Family Chantel. The final 2 seasons in particular. I love that you are very non biased and fair.

I love your bit on “love language” and communicating it. My husband is very-much someone who thrives from words of affirmation and appreciation but it’s something that doesn’t flow out naturally from me. I try very hard to make sure I tell him how thankful for him I am and even if it comes out rough-sounding and unnatural, he knows I’m sincere. I think it makes everything hit stronger for him ❤

So I came to this video because of the videos on season 3 you’ve made. It was really eye opening the way you talked about love languages. I know what my husbands and mine love language is, and I know they are very different. And I’ve actually used his love language to get more of my love language from him. But hearing you talk about the downside of those love languages makes so much sense to me. We don’t have that many fights but the fights we do have are more or less about the same stuff and ultimately about our love languages and the way they are or aren’t met.
