Watch "On the Verge" by Arcteryx about the Eldred River Valley

https://youtu.be/HQdaDbA-wJI

Scouting the Eldred Valley for BASE Jumping, and Paragliding. No jumps possible this year. Undergrowth too thick to overcome to possible launches and exits.

Check out:
https://powellriverrock.wixsite.com/cadmc/home

Definitely BASE jumping is doable, just cannot get to the exit yet. Chopper up top maybe and find a way down? Have to cut through thick undergrowth in a temperate rainforest. Need time to scout more lines, hack more bush. A team would be great. Tight landings on the logging roads, some gravel turnouts, powerlines over the road in some areas make it even harder to land on the road. Next Year baby. Next year. Estimate 3-4 hour hike from either Carogdur or the Main Wall secondary river access to the top of the walls. And then there's "Promised Land" as well...So much to see and do!!

Paragliding, not much for landing areas, except logging roads, need to use big ears to land perhaps, might be too tight in most cases. Trees are 150 feet tall or taller. Need complete survival and tree kit to para-glide here.

What a beautiful film. While I'm sad about the biological diversity lost through the intense logging, I'm cautiously optimistic that the diversification of revenue streams (vis-a-vis tourism) will be the forest's saving grace.

Wow what a great video, thanks . As a resident of Vancouver Island who gets to stare across at Powell River I understand the anguish of losing that last little bit of Old Growth in your special sanctuary. Please keep up the fight, offer ideas to persuade their thinking, - Dollars an acre of old growth is worth as to years of revenue for tourism, - Amount of C02 an old growth Douglas Fir can consume each year and that whole climate reasoning, just to name a couple. I would think the road in would still be maintained if there was timber further up the valley, or is that the end of the valley?

The part of environmentalism that is under talked about is conservation, and it seems to also be the thing most environmentalists are passion the most about. This documentary is BEAUTIFUL. It shows the side of conservation that us outsiders don't see, and it shows how much it matters to the locals. Thank you for this.

Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 61:11 KJV — "For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Adonay YAHUWAH will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations."

HalleluYAH we are blessed enough to still see and witness the glory of ancient old growth forests and majestic mountains...

Trudeau is the classic example of a globalist who serves the World Economic Forum's technofascist agenda to control everything and every person that moves on this planet and turn it into an economic resource to be exploited by the 0.1%. His only interest in 'nature' or 'climate change' is when it serves the Luciferan agenda of technocontrol. Meanwhile the old growth forests of Canada, along with the fishing grounds and much else that Mother Nature conferred on this beautiful land are still being trashed on his watch.

I live in an area where logging is a huge thing too. Seasons after seasons, I see a more and more aggresive development as well. Kilometers and kilometers of hiking/mtbing trails are destroyed and never restored. I'm not againt logging at all, I just want a different approach of it.

That people cut these amazing forests down, wherever they are, mystifies me.That a lot of this timber is exported and burnt in "green bio fuel power stations" stupifies me. That the destruction will continue breaks my heart. The human race deserves to die out.

The one thing wrong with Logging today is, it still doesn't include our First Nations input, into how Industrial practices impact on the Environments, with-in their Territories. The NDP has started to address Old Growth logging in BC's First Nation Territories, it is up to local Governments to do the same and respect the last wild lands in the Fraser Valley.

Consumer demand gives producers some idea of the publics taste, then once the producers think they have the winning combination they stick too it like glue to maintain high sales,,,,, the issue is that the relationship between consumer and producer is now a feed back loop,,,,, ,its forcing things to remain the same so companies do not need to take the risk of producing new or fresh stuff,,, ,Money and greed are now vastly restricting progress and invention for this reason....humanity has greeded itself into a position of stagnation....FACT

That was great. 10/10. I loved how she couldn't describe the feeling of the old forest other than "vast". The embedded knowledge held by that network above ground and below for hundreds of years. Yea that forest 100% speaks in a way that could only be defined as "vast".

I'm convinced the universe screams at us all but only some have been still and quiet long enough in its embrace to ever open that channel to listen to it.

Do the math. The big mills are gone. Take out 70% of those left, NO MORE! Release their crowns. In 20 years you will see giants in the making ... and in 60 years they will be too big for the head rig of any mill remaining in the world. Don't say that nobody ever told you ... you just refuse to believe it.
