"Be softer with recruits" "we will address people with names now" "let's give high fives" What the fuck happened. Lot of unnecessarily critical takes in the comments. Which is sad because in war, the little things you can manage to do that even vaguely humanize yourself and fellow soldiers are the very things that keep you sane. You may see it as soldiers "not taking it seriously" but in fact it's more along the lines of "I laugh, only to keep myself from crying". Lighten up people damn.

A combat medic friend of mine told me that using blood type patches can be VERY dangerous, because at war, soldiers will tend to share their gear with each other (watch some Ukrainian war trench footage for example) and it will get mixed up with someone else.
