Dedicated vs. Integrated Graphics Cards - Which Should You Choose? [Simple]

“Integrated graphics“ are just as much of a schill as making people decide to buy a processor based on a 500 MHz rating difference when Intel processors are extremely inefficient AMD or a better Motorola were the best 300% more efficient but because of their “horsepower rating“ they are no longer manufactured even though they were the best

Gigahertz rating have nothing to do with actual performance or efficiency consumers. Don’t know that and have driven for the production of lesser products that are cheaper with a higher number… This is why you can’t buy a decent computer anymore and multiple cores can never replicate the power of an efficient processor.

Seriously check out benchmarks of a PowerPC G4 at 600 MHz versus AMD Athlon at 1.2 versus Intel Celeron at 2.4. The PowerPC is still more powerful but has an incredibly lower megahertz rating consumers. Don’t understand they just want the higher number and that has really screwed up the availability of powerful machines at affordable prices or even identifying decent computers that meet or exceed system requirements I’ve demanded applications

My laptop is maxed out at 8gb on a cheap hp laptop.everytime I start up cpu is at 100% and it's super slow will a intel i5 fix that right now it has a intel pentium and it sucks bad I just want to use for like arduino and cad design no gaming.

Integrated GPU is more sustainable.

I mean I play games alot and use an intelgrated GPU and I can run all games over 120 FPS .-.

Get a cheap gpu like a 1060 or a rx580. It will be a lot better than integrated graphics and it it won’t cost much extra.

So if you have integrated graphics in cpu, can you later upgrade to a dedicated video card and gain the benefits

Just wanna say that in 2020, integrated graphics have come along way, on my laptop that i use for school has AMD's integrated ryzen 7 4000 series and it is able to run warzone, gta5, doom basically all the high-end games smoothly just need to run some of the newer games at 720p tho, but 2018 games and older should run on 1080p at 40-60fps and it only cost 500 dollars, it was 650 but you know the price went down after a while

I have a question. The only thing, that is Video specific that I would be doing with my computer is making Digital Files (MP4's) out of my DVD collection so I can put them on a device and watch the content on my television (instead of swapping disks in and out of a player). I would also be doing some editing, trimming, merging, and aspect ratio correction (for whatever needs it) of my digital files. Would that be something where a Dedicated Video Card would be better or would the Integrated Card, built in to the Motherboard, suffice for my needs?
