Intermediate Tutorial: Scanning for VPS with Niantic Lightship

Can I do scan directly in Ingress game, or do I need to do it in Wayfarer.

Hey! If I logged onto the Wayfarer App using an 8th Wall account- Where will be scans go? As i am not linked to a Lightship account. Additionally- Is there a way to link the two?
