Thanks so much for the thorough review of these two. I have a Canon Pixma Pro 100 which is a great premium printer, but overkill for stickers and regular documents. My concern always is compatability with Mac OS . Looking for a economical second printer for stickers.

Angie, what is the current version of the HP Envy you have here? Is there a benefit to getting an Envy Inspire? Or a SmartTank? Looking to buy soon, but so many options. Well, don't even TRY to get one of those Canon Pixma TS9521c or 9520!!!! I've been waiting on one to come in since June 2021! I will say, there are some on Amazon, if you want to pay at least TRIPLE the price! No thanks, can't be that good! Just wish Canon would just come out and say it'll never be available and STOP advertising them! Rant over.

I used an hp inkjet printer for my cricut printable vinyl, and the register line started to smear. Do you know why that is?

My hp photo envy prints lines in my art for print then cuts when I put on card stock or vinyl 😭 I’ve tried cleaning my cartridge and aligning them but you can still see the lines throughout the image 😭

Thank you for this comparison! So sad that the HP can't handle cardstock for print then cut. HP's are mostly front loaders and that means the paper has to curve back around on itself and thick paper doesn't want to to that! The only thing I think is missing in this video is more info on the thickness cut off point. Can it handle 100 lb cardstock but not 110 lb? Or 80 lb vs 100 lb? Guess I will have to do my own testing with my old Officejet 4630. 🙂

Any suggestions for a color laser for printing stickers / outdoor vinyl primarily…i have a Brother laser and having the worst luck trying to calibrate the colors to print correct.

dont think either of these would be good if you print on heavy card stock. Best to get one that drops the paper down from the top, rather than rolling it around to print.

Hi, I have a hp envy 4527, last night I tried to print on transparency paper the ink on the paper wasn't very vibrant and its still wet after more than 12hrs. My question is can u print on transparency paper with this printer. Thank you

Hmmm... this review is so half done that give me the feeling of spending 20 min. and I have nothing conclusive.
Hope you increase your budget and do your tests by yourself for next time.

Is it me or it seems like Hp doesn't make a model called "Hp envy photo" anymore? On their website, I could only find normal "Hp Envy" printers. Maybe it's called Hp Envy Inspire now?

What laser print do you recommend? For foiling on heavy cardstock

I intially thought PIXMA TS9520C prints were washed out but BY ADJUSTING ON THE 'PAGE SETUP' " >Print Options"(printing preferences) these two attributes 1- Print with (vibrant prints with All except PgB K) seems to remove excessive greying in printing 2-Playing with the 'Unit of Print Data Processing" has also PRODUCED closer to reality copies.
Enjoyed your video and purchased Canon before current price drop. Maybe its going to be discontinued. Thinking about buying anoher before they stop supporting it on their wEbsite like my Pixma mx870...also a great printer but limited to 8x11,14

Angie, as of today I can’t print on my printer using print and cut. I’m met with a message “One quick thing… it looks like you still need to set up your machine. You will need to do this before you can make your project. Don’t worry it’s easy”. I could cry right now. I’ve been working on the design space for years.

With Canon should use ICC profile to get the bright colors

The thing you have to understand is that EVERY paper type will print differently, you have to take into account what file type you're printing from, ALL your printer settings (not just quality), and paper type. Ink will saturate thinner paper more than thicker cardstock, therefore producing more "saturated" prints... It's not the printer that's "not printing high quality", it's simply a difference in paper.

I have the Epson 3270. The printable iron-on sheet keeps getting stuck in the back of the printer. It just doesn't want to feed in. Any suggestions?? I am super excited to use these iron-ons.
