I'm guessing you picked the g2c because it's what you had in your collection but that gun is a relic in fact the Taurus gx4 carry model is the best concealed carry gun on the market it will out shoot every compact gun you had on that table it's reliable it was gun and ammo magazines gun of the year in 2002 I believe

I really hate to hear “sub compact are for women”
I have compact guns and 9/10 they are more uncomfortable for bigger guys than subcompact. So stop saying a gun is for a specific gender. They are made for specific people/situations/circumstances/missions.

Personally I luv the p22 Walter with a laser had one for 18 years, however had a squib for the first time and the next round tore it apart it. Not too much recoil, or strength needed to charge it or too much trigger weight for a 90 pound teen girl to use

Rounds in .45 ACP and 10mm also benefited from ammo improvements . Having a 3/4 inch buzz saw going through your vitals tends to end the fight pretty quick ..

As a diplomatic security operator we had issued Glock 19’s . Ammo was 124 grain Hydroshoks , I trust it for headshots only .

It's not just the surface area, it's the mass of the weapon that is the biggest driving factor for recoil. The large surface area is for the user to be able to grab it better which will give them better control.

I suspect that the best gun is two guns.

I have a rotation and carry what is most appropriate for what I am doing and wearing. From a J frame to a XD Service and everything in between.

45 can go subsonic, so a threaded barrel could be interesting in some crazy WROL scenario... pretty sure it has more punch as well. in most circumstances you are not going to need a lot of rounds. i see these guns as the always carry and the back up gun. you seem to look at them as the only gun and your clint eastwood against an entire town... one or two assailants is generally all you have to deal with in a typical conceal carry scenario especially once a round goes off. i also do not think i want my holster to clack like a 12 g shotgun when i pull my piece out. how about gun specific leather or some manmade fiber. you gonna tell me the colt defender in .45 is not a contender? or a HK45? seems to me the 45 proved itself in WW2. they had 9mm but they where not the real choice in real warfare. what was the choice when clearing tunnels in ww2 and vietnam? the 45... what is as thin as a glock? a 1911...
