oh god, ew 😅 the oval one looked like a turd from the start, and then once you flipped them over, you can see the biiig inclusions in the round one. as crappy as they are, i guess i can see why people buy diamonds from places like that - most people don't understand gemstones at all, they just want a big, shiny rock, and if they can get a stone that big for a price that low, they're happy. most people can't actually see the inclusions, not tell the difference between tints, and even if they can then it doesn't both them because it's a big diamond. i couldn't even bring myself to set 1.5mm stones from a supplier that has more inclusions in the stones, you can really see it, but when i show other beginner jewellers, they don't see it at all and don't care. sad times...
ОтветитьSo you don't set online stones. Fair. What about resetting an heirloom stone or just repurposing the stones in jewelry they already have?
Ответитьgood one, I definitely prefer your longer videos. The longer the better! Also a different topic, liked that
ОтветитьThis is a great video Bonnie! It’s so nice to be able to see the difference ❤
ОтветитьWe need the names of these online competitors so we know not to get tricked! Please share 😅
ОтветитьWhole diamond industry is a scam
ОтветитьThey both look so pretty to me 😊
ОтветитьAnother great, informative video. I bought locally because I needed to be able to see what I was getting before I purchased. I also wanted to be able to take my rings in to be serviced and checked every six months without having to ship them off somewhere. I’d been stalking the online retailers comparing prices, but once I became educated about diamonds, that was a hard no for me. I researched for about a year before taking the plunge. I was able to select a much better quality lab diamond than I would’ve picked earlier in my shopping journey. I also discovered you have to try on rings. I always thought I hated marquise cuts, but I ended up with dainty, shared prong marquise bands sandwiching my princess pave ring. The contrast of shapes is absolutely gorgeous, and I constantly get compliments on it.
ОтветитьI bought a 1.2 ct promise ring from an online retailer then a 4.8 ct engagement from the same online retailer and paid a great price compared to others who offer the same diamond marked up triple even 4 times more. All looked well for both under all lighting. Glad I went with them but do a lot of research before going any route because in a jewelry store a diamond can look way different in other lighting.
ОтветитьThis is exactly why I opted to NOT order a diamond myself online. Instead I went to a store, told them what I wanted and they helped to pick and curate the diamond. Ended up going with their recommendation and couldn't be happier with the diamond and the price. Added bonus they also do custom settings to get exactly what we wanted the ring to look like!
ОтветитьLearning so much from your videos as just a passionate consumer. 🤩
ОтветитьWorked with a jeweler from Canada. We trusted his judgement with the stone. We ended up being happy with it.
Ответить❤️🕵️❤️
ОтветитьI got my ring from Instagram - she’s a broker and small business. I love my oval diamond set in 14k gold
ОтветитьThe round looks very good, I actually like the blue. I have nothing nice to say about the oval, ha ha!!!
ОтветитьWe worked with a jeweler out on the East Coast virtually. I’d tried on a few in person at a big-box store to be sure of the stone shape and size, sent him photos, and he took it from there. I also sketched plans of my setting (I’m unfortunately an engineer lol and did not want to leave structural integrity to chance) and he replicated my vision exactly. Pleasurable experience from start to finish.
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьBonnie, thank you for everything you teach us. Only wise people will accept the knowledge. The unwise will complain and draw their own conclusions.
ОтветитьI took the hybrid approach, I found a few stones that I liked online and then asked to see them in person before making the final decision
ОтветитьThere are a lot of diamonds that are going to fail to pass the jeweler's requirements. That is why there are online sales 🤣 I wouldn't mind having the-less-than-perfect diamonds in jewelry that wasn't engagement, provided there was nothing noticeable to the naked eye!
ОтветитьUnboxing of colored gemstones please!
ОтветитьRound looks nice, oval looks not so nice, weird color.
ОтветитьOval has a bow tie it’s also dull
ОтветитьBonnie ignore the first comment from “Nicole”. Obviously a moron.
ОтветитьMore lab grown crappola
ОтветитьI wish Bonnie would show the prices of her curated pieces, then I’d know if she’s within my budget or not.
ОтветитьWe didnt buy online ourselves, but my bf found a natural diamond online, (IF, G color, 3ex, cutting score 95, non fluoresce), and asked the local jeweler (at sf jewelry center) to get it and make the ring which is designed by my bf.
ОтветитьI kind of like the slight blue tint
ОтветитьHave you done a Zales review?
ОтветитьBonnie, I TOTALLY understand your reason for not accepting other company stones to be set in your designs. I think the liability would be tricky and if somebody goes to the trouble of saving money for a ring, they should consider buying a setting from the person they would buy the stone from.
ОтветитьOur jeweler is ~local (an hour away). My husband didn’t see the diamond or ring in person at all. He was able to customize & choose all his requirements online. We are incredibly happy with his decision. We also bought my wedding band from a separate an east coast jeweler (we’re in the west coast) & were happy it matched my engagement ring well.
ОтветитьWould love your take on Jann Paul diamonds specifically. They would not let me buy a lab grown diamond unless I did a video call to get a live inspection of the diamond. Plus I would like to hear your thoughts on their fancy shapes that are innovative- Both exciting, but also potentially scary to a buyer who is uninformed.
ОтветитьThe round looks nice the oval is awful gray and dull
ОтветитьThis video does not seem like a fair comparison. I would like to see the same cut between a loose stone that you "curate" vs the two stones from online with the exact "same" specifactions. She didnt even show hers compared to the online ones. Same cut, same carat, same clarity etc. Easy to bash and make yourself sound great. At the end of the day shes a salesperson.
ОтветитьThe oval looks dingy.
ОтветитьI went to Costco to buy my ruby and diamond ring. I got it online.
ОтветитьThe dull looking diamond was still over $1000. At least the blue tinted diamond looks pretty on its face.
Imagine buying a diamond from an online store and then taking it to a jeweler and having it set. Wtf?! Who does this? Why not just research local jewelry companies and shop around first? Why would you drop so much money on a stone you can't even see in person?! 😂
I bought an engagement ring last month. Spending my hard earned money on something with so much into it, heart and soul, I needed to see them in person. I got a 0.9 cushion modified, D IF, great proportions, slightly elongated, just a gorgeous stone. It was between the cushion and 0.9 E IF princess. The princess was beautiful as well, but, the D won the day. I am glad I saw them in person to make such an important decision.
First impression, the oval seems to be less brilliant, light leakage?
Hi Bonnie, just want to ask if you provide GIA certificates on labgrown diamonds when people purchase from your store/site? I'm planning to get one soon 😊
ОтветитьHi Bonnie, have you ever heard of GAI - Gemological Apraisal Industry located in the diamond district in NYC? Are they reputable? I am in the process of buying a mined diamond engagement ring, and the certificate is from GAI and not GIA.
ОтветитьGreat video thank you Bonnie!
ОтветитьI wish I could get a Bonnie ring 😫 I'm based in Toronto!
ОтветитьThe oval looks yellowish, whereas the round:1 look more sparkly n clearer😅*
Ответитьl would never get a stone on line bit thnx:Bonnie*Btw yr:10yr upgrade so awesome/beautiful
ОтветитьNo.1 way to get scammed listen to these videos lol 😂
ОтветитьLove your personality!
ОтветитьLOL she loosing so bad 😢😂
ОтветитьIf you’re shopping for diamonds online, you HAVE to watch this video first. It will prevent you from making A LOT OF MISTAKES!
Also, watch till the end if you want to know how much money I spent on these 🤭
