"Transcribe to Captions requires macOS Sequoia," according to Apple. So even though some of the machine learning features like Magnetic Mask may work on older macOS and Intel-based Macs, you'll need a Mac capable of running Sequoia for this feature.
Also, if you're not seeing the option to update FCP in the system settings, go to the FCP page in the App Store and update it there. Once you're done, go back to systems settings and update to the latest camera profiles

I made a quick video of a tool I found that will convert the closed captions in FCP to titles while in Final Cut. Pretty cool if you want titles on screen.

i have mac os sequoia and still have a MBP 2019 intel but it does not let me transcribe to captions. Only the other updates I can do, like the transitions and masks smh. My only workaround is using transcriber from fxfactory and then importing the file into fcp directly or copy and past in add captions options in fcp

I have an Intel MBP... magic mask is available but i don't see captions! - i would have though the magic mask requires more cpu than the captions... But it seems you need an M chip for captions...

The fact it's English only for the automatic ones is quite disappointing since other apps have had it for years in multiple languages
