It is frankly amazing how different your voice sounds over the course of just 11 years I mean, I know we both had shit microphones back then but your cadence has changed. My videos from back then still sound like me but higher pitched.
ОтветитьGood review. I played the Orion Conspiracy waay back in the day, in the late 90s. For what I recall, it was strange and tedious. The space-station is huge, and you can easily wander from place to place with no idea what you are supposed to do, or where you are supposed to go. This, can be argued, helps with the atmosphere, but it can be very burdensome. Also, it's the thing of "characters changing place when the plot advances". For example, I recall I was very confused when the fat guy asks you for a cake, you go to the bar, to find the cook, and he's not there. You need to find him in the mess hall, which is obvious, but then again, good luck remembering in which section of the station that thing is.
Regarding the plot, as you mentioned, it's very disjointed. It's a lot of plot threads, which are indeed solved in a way, but have nothing to do with each other.
In the end, a mediocre game, but it had some good things. People recommended it to me for its "adult" plot, and indeed, in a time in which almost all "adventure" games were kid-friendly, this game took a risk. Also, it had nice world-building, which was very interesting. I recall many mediocre 90s games which were compensating with extensive world-building. In the end, not a total waste, but it's a game I'd rather remember and laugh at the hokey voice acting rather than revisiting it by myself.
Thanks for the review!
Please do a longplay of 'The Dig'. It's a Lucasarts point and click adventure in space. Came out in 1995.
ОтветитьThat video was actually pretty funny. Well done.
Ответитьhi i downloaded a free copy of this game off the internet, the game has music but no dialogue sounds. Please help me, how do i get the speech to work. thanks!
ОтветитьOooooooooh... that makes sense, actually. Well spotted, I'll just have to assume the scout braced itself on the pod; big-ass magnet or some such. Cheers for the knowledge!
Ответить*head asplode*
ОтветитьHello, I'm a bit late to the party but that wuz fun! One point though... zero G spanners... There's a little thing called torque. If you try to turn a spanner without gravity to hold you in place you'll just push yourself in the opposite direction. It's a thing. Jolly fun otherwise, i'm off to check out more :D
ОтветитьIt's awesome, is it not? Kind words sir, thank you much :)
ОтветитьAlso, I've noticed the Scout that Devlin flies is braned "Otosan" which is Japanese for "father". Subtle bit of humor there, eh, Divide By Zero?
ОтветитьBrilliant review, pretty damn funny. Love the little cat money box thing you have :D
Ответить1:50 I'd say
