This is a basic feature of any security system & I can't believe we're in 2024 & Eufy still doesn't have it...

I like your videos and have found them helpful in assisting me with which security camera system I should install in my home, so thank you for that.

I noticed in this video that you have the two cameras very close to each other in the video testing, around nine inches from each other.

If you copy and paste the following into Google, Can security cameras too close to each other interfere with the camera? It states. Do not keep the cameras too close to each other (<2mts). This will cause signal interference between them.

The 2mts, as you are probably aware, stands for two metres, and this guidance is to have the cameras a minimum of two metres / six to seven feet apart.

Security camera signals may interfere with each other, so maybe this is why the motion detection on the Reolink Trackmix never picked up you approaching it every single time. Whereas the Eufy S340 solo cam did.

It is interesting that when you reviewed the Reolink Trackmix Battery camera in your video entitled (Reolink Trackmix Battery Review: A Full Featured Wireless Outdoor WIFI PTZ Security Camera) you didn’t experience any interference with the motion detector on the Reolink Track Mix Camera in that video, and there was no Eufy S340 solo camera next to it?

Given the importance of the video, as some may have preferred Reolink Trackmix Battery but were put off by the motion sensor failing three times out of several tests, you should review this flaw with the Reolink Trackmix Battery camera again to see if the same issue occurs when the Eufy S340 camera or other cameras are nowhere near it.

Maybe ask Reolink to lend you another Reolink Trackmix Battery camera to see if the one you have has a flaw or if it repeats on both of these Reolink cameras.

Once you remove the Eufy camera and have the Reolink Trackmix Battery camera on its own with no other security cameras nearby, the motion detector should work each time and not fail. If it does, the Eufy camera was interfering with it.

Theoretically, it shouldn’t matter if another security camera is near another camera, be it the same brand or another brand. However, even if there is the slightest possibility that this could be affecting the camera's performance, you need to consider this.

I hope this guidance is helpful, and do let us all know if the Reolink Trackmix battery-powered camera continues to have motion detection issues even when all this guidance is in place.

Maybe you could make a video on this, as it would be helpful to those are interested in this Reolink Trackmix Battery camera.

I like the Eufy S340 dual-lens camera as it is smaller and has a better app, and Eufy has added group control on their app so you can combine and customise security modes on all Eufy cameras.

That said, I feel the Reolink Trackmix Battery camera has a better video and sound quality, and if the motion sensor issue hadn’t occurred three times out of seven tests on the Reolink Trackmix Battery camera during your video, would you have voted it better than the Eufy S340 Solar Camera? Do let us know.

How do you manage notification bloat when you trigger the cameras by walking or driving up? Or is it just going to notify every single time you leave and return home?

These cameras are great EXCEPT they are very buggy. I get tons of event recordings with nothing showing. I have changed the sensitivity a bunch but still goes off way too much when nothing happens. It snowed recently and the snow fall kept setting it off.

Thanks for the review. I was looking at both these cameras. The biggest drawback for the Eufy,, for me is it will not connect to a Windows client. I don't own a smartphone and other cameras I have tried connecting Cloudplus through an Android Emulator will not work, I don't know if Eufy's app would. If you have any suggestions for solar Wi-Fi outdoor camera with a Windows client, it would be appreciated.

I have added it to my homebase S380. Maybe that’s why it tracks animals.

Will the Eufy S340 still work if you block it from connecting to the internet?
My Wyze and blink doesn’t work at all when blocked from the internet. No recordings.
I can block my Trackmix, everything works perfectly, just doesn’t send out notifications, but pet/human/vehicle detection all work.

Eufy sound is not that great!!

I picked up an S340 during Black Friday. I'm pretty impressed with it. It does seem to have a weaker wifi signal than my other Eufy cameras in the same spot, but with the Base Station as a repeater, it seems to be doing okay. I have it plugged into my outlet, as the front of my house really doesn't get much sun at all. I will say that for best results, you want to put this camera up higher. Like 7-10 feet. It can't rotate down as far as you'd expect. Thanks for another great comparison, LifeHackster.

I have 2 Reolink Trackmix. 1 of them works good and tracks good. Whereas the other one will see motion and actually turn the other way. I'm afraid to buy another one.

Night and day difference in video quality if you ask me... and is that not the most important aspect of a security camera?
Reolink wins IMO, as usual. Just sucks that it can't record to their own NVR but you can record 24/7 to a high endurance SDcard.
The little issues with Reolink seem to be mostly all related to firmware and not hardware. Based on Reolink's track record, there's a high chance it'll be fixed with an update.

The reolink shits the eufy every time

Reolink seem to have a crappier UI compared to eufy.. you should use pan/tilt first on the tracking for the trackmix. It won't zoom out and stay zoomed in on the target everytime the camera pans side ways.

Great review as always. I don't mind the Reolink's problems. I'll go for the PoE one anyway, 50m cable in the ground to the front gate is a one time effort, so I prefer wired setups for where the security is paramount. Watching over the horses, chicken, etc can be WiFi, they won't steal my stuff anyway😊

I have a Reolink Trackmix Battery camera, and am getting ready to buy the Eufy camera because it's cheaper and can be connected to an NVR. After watching your video, I now have a Reolink Trackmix camera for sale, LOL 😂.... I'm kidding, I'll find some use for it. Especially since it's a $300 camera.

Good video as always. Eufy the clear winner. Reolink really needs to fix downloading footage. Jumping through all those hoops to download your footage is ridiculous.

If the eufy camera tracks someone to the left does the camera stay in that position? What if someone then walks up the right side, would it detect that and turn? I've never had a tracking camera before so trying to make sure it'd work for me. Thanks!
