This is really cool! Definitely some hits and misses in the execution, but the concept itself is neat. I had no idea any of these existed! The improved Shatterhand looks like the kind of game you'd see on the Spextrum Next nowadays. Could definitely see it being an MSX or early PCE game. 😁 Same with Castlevania 30th anniversary, although I fully agree:the music is ESSENTIAL to Castlevania. Castlevania HD immediately reminded me of the Castlevania game I used to play on the PS1, and after looking at the Wikipedia entry it turns out that was actually an updated port of the Sharp X86000 game. Cool video! Will definitely give some of these a try.
ОтветитьNeed to know the music in the intro
ОтветитьYou sound a lot like Dr Nick from the Simpsons
ОтветитьCharacter in Castlevania looks like a injured walking Jesus.
Ответитьthis is so nethack tiles core
Ответитьwonder boy dragons trap remake is basically this.
ОтветитьThe graphics of the Zelda 1 one are from BS Zelda, which is SNES hardware, which explains the music and graphics.
Ответитьcan't stand your voice
ОтветитьWhat I mostly care is an input lags that will happen after used the pack, is it happen?
ОтветитьCan you use this emulator on Android?
ОтветитьThe nerve to rework Castlevania and remove Simon's music.
Ответить”Nuts & milk” 💀
ОтветитьIf you dont like nes graphics - just don't play nes. It's that simple:) Slapping over some fan-made ugly "overlays" doesn't make them look better.
ОтветитьCan I use it to my NDS R4 emulator?
Ответить12 seconds in and I could already tell he was portuguese 😂
ОтветитьOMG Mario looks like a cross between the acme cartoon doe-doe bird ( nope! not gonna do it nope nope! ) and Cheech Marín smh
ОтветитьI wonder why i keep getting these videos that aren't in English.
ОтветитьWhere do you get this
ОтветитьI want someone to do Battle of Olympus HD pack. I can help if someone wants to get started. I do graphics and pixel art no prob.
ОтветитьHey, people who like all these hd textures. Share your thoughts, I want to understand what's wrong with your brain.
ОтветитьI don't think you know what HD stands for.
ОтветитьSo little informative. So much opinionated.
Ответитьyour voice AND your opinions (both really) are too horrible. i had to mute you to even watch this video
ОтветитьWhy do you sound like every sentence is a TV commercial for a new laundry detergent?
Ответитьbetter isn't always better. that 'pac-man' loses so much charm when it's in such a 'perfect' form, it just doesn't fit, imo. if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
ОтветитьThey used the wrong Donkey Kong. The Donkey Kong from Donkey Kong Country, who wears a tie, is actually the son of Donkey Kong Junior from the game Donkey Kong Junior, and the grandson of the original Donkey Kong, who is also known as Cranky Kong.
Ответитьis the project for zelda 1 finished?
ОтветитьCan these texture packs be used on handheld games like the Anbernic's?
ОтветитьYeah I'm not a fan of this. It comes down to what we define as "better". Metroid is a great example. Those new "upgraded" backgrounds would be better if the look of them were hand designed instead of just a plain rock texture. One of the things that was great about old nes games was that sequels had slightly different styles because of new story elements & an evolution of ideas. For instance, Ninja Gaiden 1, 2, & 3 had slightly and sometimes very different graphics, colors, sounds, etc. What was done with Metroid here is like if someone said that Ninja Gaiden 3 is the best so lets redue Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2 to look & feel like Ninja Gaiden 3.
Basically, I don't want Metroid 1 to look and feel like Super Metroid. I like them both as they are, having a different feel. And I don't want the graphics to be rigidly upgraded. I like hand designed detail because of the creativity from the artists. Here's what would be awesome, if Metroid 1 was upgraded by the original artists, or a new team who can fully understand the original's overall theme well enough that when they upgrade backgrounds, etc, it's done in that style with more detail.
The Milk & Nuts overlay looked good to me. I happen to enjoy those kind of improvements. I also enjoyed flash games a lot.
I'd consider it an improvement, not based on if it looks like old pixel art, keeping true to the original, but going as far as taking something like Yoshi's Island and making it look like Yoshi's Story or Yoshi's crafted world. Or even the improvements made with Link's Awakening or Mystery Dungeon from the Game Boy versions to the new Switch remake versions.
Though, is cool to see even a little improvements to a game directly, by only changing the graphics some. Such as what was shown here done to the old Metroid and Zelda. Those are nice. And the Zelda pack, real nice.
The change to Battle City I would not call an upgrade. I'd much prefer the old version to the new texture pack. I also feel the new animation looks bad. As though they are vibrating.
Not saying you are wrong or anything, it's all just opinions. And not your opinions VS mine, just opinions.
This guy talks like he's hosting a children's birthday party
ОтветитьLlllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllL
ОтветитьSo much beller
ОтветитьThis shudlllleran I did not planr fur dat
ОтветитьHomestar Runner narrating this?
ОтветитьNintendo needs to remaster all there hits nes games
Make them SNES. Sell them on a compilation
With all remixed hits. For the SNES. I would buy it in quickly
You need to show comparisons to the original game.
ОтветитьCan you play these games on the NES with an everdrive?
ОтветитьWhat really needs an update is Gaunlet by Tengen. That could look amazing!
ОтветитьNot sure if it's just some kind of memory mapper for the graphics segments, possibly could explain the missing music in Castlevania... if they needed more use of the ROM's memory-mapped space for graphics. Not sure if that's possible but I wouldn't doubt it.
ОтветитьThanks Dr Nick!
ОтветитьYou missed the super mario sunshine 4k texture pack with 60fps patch. Makes it feel like it was released this year.
ОтветитьI wonder if you could do a real time ai image generation for these old games.
ОтветитьThanks for the video Dr. Nick!
