How Divinity Original Sin 2 Made Me Fall In Love With RPGs Again

That criticism of the journal sounds to me like a judgement based on an assumption of how quests markers should operate. I understand that it can be frustrating that the markers don’t lead directly to where u need to go but I think that leads to a more interesting albeit demanding experience

I find it odd they think the quest journal isn’t good. Mentioning wondering around unsure what to do. As a new player who never played DOS1 I never had this issue. I think it does an amazing job where it’s doesn’t hold your hand but also doesn’t leave you hanging either. For someone to not be able to figure out quests based on the journey details in this game just makes you dumb. Doesn’t make the design bad.

How is definitive edition a 9 and this one a 10!?

I don't like dragon age and Witcher because of its repetitive combat that becomes tedious (just my opinion). Does that mean I will or won't like divinity

Not sure if its a great game, very poorly designed to my taste.. the hitboxes man. Its nearly impossible to speak with a walking npc cause their hitbox are so small, most of the times you´ll just click on the floor and dance around it. And the fights... you may well have the cursor over the npc but it will probably not hit the hitbox and instead you´ll just walk around the enemy wasting AP. Story is good but those crappy controls...

Hmm.. this sounds oddly familiar. Could this be a rip off of "Dragon Age: Origins?"

Bit late, but 60-70 hours my ass, I’ve put in almost 100 and still in act 2. The game times by reviewers are also so far off it’s unbelievable

Missed out mentioning a MASSIVE feature of the game that adds a ton of value.

LAN/P2P/SplitScreen and bots - It just enhances party role playing with partners even more.Many AAA publishers remove these to push live services on everyone.

Coming from an Xcom/Xcom 2 background, I can really appreciate the strategy, placement, technicalities and action points in the combat.
It really brings out your creative and tactical juices trying to beat some overwhelming odds.

I really am not into Fantasy or medieval themed RPGs, preferring Sci-Fi, but DOS is an extraordinary exception, as I really feel like I am playing the role of a Red Royal Dragon or Demon possessed Sorceress...LOL.

The co-op and multi op LAN/Split screen/P2P options and features are a STRONG aspect of the game that I thought had long since been forgotten, but am glad, is there in today's world of "live services" and Online only multiplayer.

Text/dialog size for consoles??? Witcher 3 was unplayable because dialog size was too small...couldn't see from couch! Please help.

I just bought this game and I can't believe how good it is. I feel like I'm back playing KOTOR, Baldur's Gate 2 or Witcher 3. It's a masterpiece, the gold standard for RPGs.

But i still dont understand,why do you go in one way if you can get more xp from trying all solution? For example in fort joy i can escape from the fort easily after i freed the elf in the kitchen,why should i escape so early if i can slaughter the entire magister in the fort and escape with the kid and his boat below the dungeon? It will get me more xp to do so right? its kinda kill the immersion for me

I am late but I dont care. How long is fort joy? I got like 15 hours maybe. I am doing the solo lone wolf. Found two ways outta Fort Joy, boat with kid or massacre every fucking magisters. Hate them magisters fuck them. Maybe its best to select origin characters and go with a full party for super dense storylines and quests. I went with a custom solo lone wolf. Just sharing I got none to share this with. Most of my friends dont give a fuck about games, so. Anyways love this game. So sad cudnt save butter, but happy I brought down griff. Hahaha and also found a yarrow flower for that magisters father. No more guilt of killing a father xD

I just got this today for $19.99 at Best Buy....

Just got this game i played a few hours of the first one on ps now and loved it and they took it down. So i bought the 2nd one def like the second one better in terms of more complex combat with the armor and all. Game is a master piece u can make any build character u want it amazing and it all works well together. Obviously some builds are better then other but u can make anything work

looks really bad - cartoon style is a no go - they will ruin BG3

I got the this beauty for 14$. I fucking love this game. That chef in fort joy wanted to know who stole his oranges, and I told him. Just to fucking test, I went back to the lizard who stole them. And just like real life , that chef sent an assassin to kill him. Puts a smile on my face. That depth. Even a rat spoke to me and gave me a clue. Love it love it. I am bit late playing this game. But I didnt wanna miss it. Muah.

Just checking in to make sure it was rated 10/10. This game is a legit masterpiece. Like dragon age origins had a baby with final fantasy tactics

KOTOR style party system and dialogue/choices with fun combat and fun exploration.

The developer of this game is going to do Baldur's Gate 3. Super pumped!
