Wouldn't it be more feasible to fashion a cloud-based software that would be halfway between iMove and FCP?
This way they can reach out to a wider user base across all platforms.
Cloud editing is more of Adobes future
ОтветитьThanks Rafael for the interesting thoughts! Why not blend? FCP for all via a cloud version for even non-Mac-Users and on multiple devices and a PRO version leveraging the Apple HW/SW advantages plus some important cloud integration options e.g. collaboration or assets/libraries integration?
ОтветитьOne of the options is for Apple to buy BMD 😂😂😂
ОтветитьCould you please tell which preset you are using for your titles and lowerthirds?
ОтветитьFCP is dead.
ОтветитьGreat job on this! You're hitting your stride :)
ОтветитьThe future you describe is here already inside Davinci. Hard to do collab when fenced in by Mac only platform. I appreciate fcp for its speed but it’s too far behind now. It would be interesting if apple bought Davinci, like Adobe bought figma.
ОтветитьYou were spot on with predicting the rise of Resolve a few years ago. I’m hoping FCP leans more towards “Future 1” myself. Just please no subscriptions 🙏
ОтветитьApple is not doing well buildng web services. I doubt that's what we will see.
ОтветитьHello! Which titles did you use for the lower thirds and transitions?
ОтветитьFuture 1 = 😊Future 2 = 🙁Lots of use for AI, none for collaboration: personally
ОтветитьVery nice opinions on the possible future of FCP!
ОтветитьI agree with everyone else who says Apple is hardware first. Their primary purpose for software is to promote the sales of hardware. I doubt they will move to a cloud-based FCP, unless it's tied to their hardware.
ОтветитьThe first two minutes, was a description of what we already have with DaVinci Resolve. As others have said Apple is a hardware company. They have already proved that they will stop developing software even if it has a following, ask Professional Photographers that used Aperture. I suspect that the third path is that it will be left to flounder, until it is finally withdrawn. It has had very little development over the past five years and unfortunately other software has continued to improve to the point that there now seems to be a mass exodus to Resolve.... it is sad to us long term FCP users, but after changing I realised what I have been missing. RIP FCP.
ОтветитьI just want auto transcribe :(
ОтветитьI filmed a project for school in 6k raw it was about 700Gb+ at the end of the schoot. I can not imagine uploading all those files to a cloud service in the future.
ОтветитьThanks for the shout, Raf! Love your take on the future of FCP. Definitely hoping for more cloud integration, that's for sure. And now that there's no March / Spring event, we'll most likely have to wait until June at WWDC to see what happens next with FCP...
ОтветитьApple is a hardware company. The second option might impact the sales if Final Cut can be run on other non Apple devices. This is the reason, Apple might not bring Final Cut to the IPAD. IPAD is powerful enough now to run Final Cut vs spending more money on a laptop or Desktop. I think Apple will look at anything that can help sales of their hardware and how they can use Final Cut as a product to do that would be what they would do.
ОтветитьRaf, not sure if this was intended, but the title says "Fiscal Cut Pro". I'm only like 8 seconds into the video just FYI.
