BEST AOE Damage Mount Combat Power! Arcane Whirlwind? [OUTDATED w/ Pegasus] - Neverwinter 2021

Nothing pisses me off more as a Ranger warden than to root a enemy group and start hitting them all and then someone uses a knock back attack and screws up the whole plan...
Knock back is the bane of any dps... a dps/tank doesn't want enemies all spread out because of knock back, you want them all in 1 tight group for a quick destruction.

How's the eclipse lion measure up? I don't mind it while solo but in groups it's annoying. Talking aoe here

I dont think in most case it is better, its actually hard to get the most from it and it knockback everything so its kinda bad. Yeah Carpet might be underperforming but just having everything close is boosting dps by a lot.

I don't think the WW will multiproc much if the other TR launches his wings and wipes out a larger range of mobs first :(

Divine Intervention also hits enemies through walls, floors, doors, magic seals, anything. I love timing it alongside Succubus' Deadly Kiss. They feel like the same power.

Arcane Whirlwind is the longest reaching combat power I've found as well.

If we're talking for pure speed regardless of the paingiver board 99% of the time carpet/axebeak will be better then most others, given some special circumstances like rogues stealth in vos maze divine intervention can be faster/better so long as they actually crit.

Bloody expensive for that mount! Arcane whirlwind account is 3.7 million astral diamond. Three months saving up.

Been using a Carpet for cpl years on AoE spec its amazing always has been 💪 for melee it BiS by far.....

i use KOS comb power at VOS for extra damage and root. alternate with ring of fowl, what do think Aragon?

last time i tested aoe mount powers some of them had a maximum amount of targets they could damage most where between 5 and 8 some like carpet would show 32 hits but most likely is just 4x8 smaller hits tested on a tank by pulling large groups

80 feet radius? That's twice the maximum range of most Encounter and At Wlil powers! I don't recall any with more than an 80 ft linear range. Rogue At Wills tend to be shorter, 60 ft, as they have to throw daggers.

I'm so lucky I don't have any concerns like this. I just play, I fight, I do my best, but I have fun. For me it's about finesse, not maximising damage, and teamwork of course, I do enjoy that as well. You endgame players are lucky I'm not endgame because I'd probably mess things up by just enjoying the game the way I enjoy it. Hahaha.

carpet gathering + cc for mass aoe will in practice outshine whirlwind every time...

I've been using Arcane Whirlwind in AOE situations for a long time. It might not push back as much as Divine Intervention, but it does push back a little bit. I recently had one whiney Barb in a REDQ complain that I used it. It does a ton of damage when it bounces the MOB downstream so that it keeps hitting it and bouncing it over and over again.

The best bit of news is magic legends has been scrapped couldn't happen to a better company than these rip of merchants

Flying Carpets Vortex is better for melee. It pulls them all into a nice clump. The Arcane Whirlwind and the Wings knock everything away.

I found a glitch a couple months back, i won't tell Cryptic though because 1) they didn't refund my companion tokens that didn't upgrade a bugged companion(but they said they will fix the companion). 2) they robbed my 100% companion voucher from my bank and didn't refund it, and 3) i accidently deleted a piece of gear and they wouldn't pop it back in my inventory. So i found a glitch which makes one of my attacks absolutely devastating! :). It's broken powerful.

It's really difficult to measure that in a dungeon. It's such a long cooldown, and you don't really use it off cooldown often enough. I mean, in a run you may be the one to hit the mobs first or it can be another player, by that time, if mobs are already low, it's not worth using your mount/artifact. Maybe you want to combo it with a daily power, or wait for your artifact cd. The point is, you don't always play the same way in a dungeon, so damage varies a lot

Divine Intervention is the only real answer. If you're not trolling your party with those wings, you're not playing this game right.

I like the balgura. It does 800 as opposed to 1000, but it has a good size and also stuns for 3 secs. Which can be a life saver and fits in very nicely with my rooting abilities as a ranger.
