Taranis X9D Plus 2019 Edition: What's it like then?

Hi Painless360. What distance can you get with the x9d plus and a x8r receiver? Thanks.

What version of software are you running on your X9D+ Painless 360?
I installed 2.2.2 on mine from FrSky and it all worked fine except the sim jack. If I attempt to turn that to slave/jack to use the simulator the software exits back to the current model.

I the LR12 Mode only on FCC or LBT Version?

Can two people with the same transmitter fly at the same time? I did this the other day and my friend had a black put for a few seconds a couple times

Does this need to be hooked up to a PC at all for normal RC plane flying? I am just looking for a good transmitter that will not need replacing as I get more into this hobby. Coming from a Spektrum DX6 and am a bit intimidated by the ease of use of FrSky's radios. I no longer own the DX6 and am looking for a good radio. Please help, thanks.

I am getting into RC flying and my personal preference is biased towards Planes and Gliders.
Where I am living, I have two options of FrSky transmitter:
1) FrSky Taranis X9D Plus 2019
2) FrSky Taranis Q X7 Access 2019

Please, suggest which one I should go for.

I also have the 2019 + edition and bought a L9R Receiver. However, the internal mode LR12 is not selectable on my taranis. I updated the internal rf module and also the internal xjt module. still nothing. what am I making wrong? Thanks and kind regards, Philipp

there is no battery, which batatery is suitable fir it, forex : 2s lipo or other. can give some imformation about batery

Hello. Do i need to go thru this process if i have the older taranis plus? Im thinking of getting the crossfire tx lite to go with the controller. I thought it was just plug n play. Havent been flying for awhile, guess im missing something here. Seems like there are steps i have to take in order to use the crossfire with the controller. Im currently using the ezuhf. Didnt have yo do all these steps back then.

From the looks of it 2.3.3 has been released so it should me straight forward on setup. I get mine on Tuesday. Hopefully it comes preloaded with so I dont need to flash anything.

My new Taranis x9d 2019 with 2.3.2 firmware does not give me the option of L12 protocol on internal module? Only get access and D16????

I updated my old version taranis x9d+ with open tx 2.3.1 and now my radio is usless:((( Most of my switches gone in interrnal rf few modes gone no reset option. The worst think I did't do back up file. Nightmare :((( Does anyone have a backup file of the Taranis X9D Plus or older version of the software in their library.☹️☹️☹️ Thx.

D8 RXs can be flashed to run in D16 mode!

I’ve just replaced my ageing Taranis plus with the 2029 SE model, this has the upgraded switched plus the hall sensor gimbals (I had replaced those in my old Taranis with the hall sensor ones, so this one is the same). I wasn’t too concerned about the lack of battery as a 2s lipo is only £15 and as for SD cards, I have plenty spare ones! I agree that having a nightly release version of OpenTx on a new radio does seem strange as you get the warning not to fly with it, but having flown about 20 sessions with my Auri DLG I haven’t yet found an issue, plus this version of OpenTx supports Crossfire, not that I use it but thought that I’d put the record straight. For me the new momentary button on the top left is a great asset, especially for launch mode when flying DLGs and I much prefer the roll switch which replaces the 3 right hand side menu buttons.

Hi Mate, could you do a tutorial on how to to do 2 things to a Taranis x9plus etc? 1st. How to physically swap over switches SH and SF so the momentary switch is on the left. This is particularly needed for right handed DLG launches. AND 2) solder on a new push button momentary switch and install it on the left side of the TX box.

Frsky are defo losing the plot a bit imho, I loved the original x9d and spent hours writing Kia scripts to make it do stuff that nothing else out there could even dream of doing but I've lost interest in frsky apart from the solid link that d8 and d16 gives me , I've got too many d8 rxs to lose them and many of them are built into quads FC so can't even flash them with mike's upcoming firmware for them.
I have my X-lite and my x9d already which work great anyway.

Personally I don't mind not having an SD card included. My first Taranis came with a flaky card, causing quite a bit of troubleshooting until I replaced it with one of my own. So, I'm happy to reuse one of my old good-quality / low capacity cards if it saves a couple of bucks and eliminates dealing with a dodgy cheap card.

No crossfire=no frsky

Does it do Crossfire natively without having to do "The Mod?"
