SOMEONE BROKE INTO OUR HOUSE (van life nightmare)

What a nightmare. Not only robbed, but out of your own country. You guys handled it well.

It is quite obvious that Spain has a major theft problem. The pickpocketing in Barcelona is next level now even 4 years later. It is so bad that hotels recommend you bring a burner phone and leave your real phone in your room. They will group around and pull it straight out of your hand or pull your backpack off. They ride by outdoor tables and snatch bags and phones off of tables. The police should be extremely embarrassed by this. They won't make a report because they do not want a record of tourists being robbed in their area. It makes them look bad. I know a lot of the people living in Spain are frustrated by it.

I can so understand Bec's reaction. I'm glad you and Eamon had each other to lean on. I had my apartment broken into and was so thankful my boyfriend was with me, just for the emotional support. I know you guys no longer are part of van life, but I hope you got a security system for the van itself. Even the loud noise would stop robbers from hanging around to see anything else they could steal.

Hello , even though this video is three years old im gonna tell you that it doesn't matter what country you're visiting. Never leave your property in plain view because you can never trust people. It doesn't matter if you're here in the USA or in China , people will steal anything they can get their hands on even if it's the nails that holds up the cross. So never forget don't leave your belongings out in the opening 💯❤️🙏🏻😇😎👍

Ouch, that is horrible... Another thing to watch out for in Spain: You go to a place where you can rent bikes (bicycles or scooters), you rent some, and they give you really cheap locks to secure them. Then you go somewhere and leave the bikes, or you leave them outside of the van overnight, and at least one bike gets stolen. So you go back to the bike rental, and they tell you it's a couple hundred bucks or more in compensation. BUT! It's all a scam business, they gave you cheap locks on purpose, so the bikes are easy to steal and they can get the compensation fee from you (which you signed on their contract). They probably work together with the thieves or they are the same people... Whenever you rent bikes, bring your own high-quality locks at least, don't get ripped off.

That is a traumatic scary and invasive feeling when someone comes into your home unwelcomed and steals your things. Your feelings are valid. I hope you have since been able to move on. ❤

This is so damn odd. Three years ago I see that you wrote this comment. The reason I said so odd is because my home got broken into in a violent manner. The home invasion came off of busting people Acting suspiciously the night after my neighbor got robbed.I ended up seeing two adults acting suspiciously one was at the corner of the apartment complex the other one was hiding in the shadows of my neighbors back windows and came running out in between that area. I had alerted my neighbor to what was going on. I also called security for the apartment complex and explained that I just witness to people acting suspiciously explain the whole thing in detail.I also called the apartment manager who was not in office course it was late at night. The next day I went to her office and explain what I witnessed and explained that I also called security. The people seeing which apartment I went back into. My neighbor came out of his apartment and it actually stared at the people as I explained what was going on. So they also seen which apartment he went back into. Next day my front door was kicked in violently. I had talk to the manager of the apartment complex explaining what I had witnessed. She explained oh I must be mistaken because they’re her friends. Within three hours my front door was kicked in and a violent manner and our whole house was tore up and things were taken from the home. Right after that I had a lifelong friend of 43 years murdered senselessly. The murder case had just ended recently and the guy got 56 years to life. It’s hard to go through something like this I know it’s also very depressing because like one person said your personal space has been violated. I can’t stand a thief. I can’t stand somebody that takes advantage of another. When I got the police report I found out that the manager of the apartments did not tell the police that they were her friends or that they even lived in the same apartment complex. She was very vague about telling the police anything. I later found out which apartment they were living in. The police did nothing. I honestly know how you feel 😢 your story touched my heart. I’m glad that you had the strength to help each other get through your bad experience. What happened to me happened from trying to be a good neighbor to somebody was good to us in return. That person always looked out after my mother. It’s all very sad all I can tell you is this be aware of your surroundings at all time.

These insufferable toolbags are exactly why most people despise the younger generations. Where did this behavior come from? What happened that created this? It doesn't make any sense. I can only assume that this is the result of constantly telling your kids how perfect and wonderful they are. It's bad enough that people behave like this but it's even worse that people want to watch fools like this on a daily basis. No idea why this came up for me to watch, but what an enormous waste of time! If you are watching things like this on a regular basis you should seek therapy and find a way to embrace your own life, not someone else's.

Yeah, that sucks to have someone break into your van and steal vlogging possessions. I understand how Bec feels because it’s an invasion of sacred personal space. I had my truck broken into twice and had things stolen. More than anything, it’s that sacred personal space that was broken. That safety line that was crossed. The first time it happened to me it was very traumatic. I no longer had that feeling of being safe in my own vehicle. It’s a horrible feeling. The second time, I was more disheartened and upset with myself for leaving personal items out, but still bummed out, non-the-less. Now, I cover my belongings up with a towel or whatever I have if I cannot put it out-of-sight. Take care.

We been living the van life now going on nine years we have a 26' value van GMC.. that's been my main worry this whole time!! I built a removable wall with a nice big window in it to put in the door hole!! It's great but now it's easy to get in.. I'm sorry some shmuck did that but pick up and keep on you know the drill.. good luck to all the van livers out there!!

First time for me on your channel. So sorry for your loss. I am not sure if you own the van your traveling in. But if you do then this might sound strange or a large burden. I would invest in and solid mount a heavy gun safe. You can find one 16" × 16" x 48" or 60" tall. Then get into the habit of using and locking the gun safe everytime, everyday. All valuables. Good luck on recovering some of your loss.

I don't know anyone who would not feel violated in one way or another in those sercomstances.
It's a shame that anyone would be so callous as to hurt anyone with such disregard. May God bless you and keep you both safe from here on. May this trial
