What brand/brands of cameras are compatible with apples home?

Avoid all home kit , it’s crap nothing works reliably 12 months of pain , my iPhone and iPad , and Mac work well I’m smart now with rival products , please don’t buy any home kit products they won’t work in the uk , , you are gonna get a bunch of stress with home kit , I have had it cost me BUNCH OF CASH , avoid home guys , Apple will need a redesign of home software they are aware but continue to push it.

Can someone tell me why my tiles are all just long rectangles? I keep seeing other people’s are either small squares or rectangles that don’t go across the whole screen. I can’t for the life of me figure it out.

I have iOS 17.2 and this option "Activity History" is not showing. Neither on my iPhone, or my iPad, or my Macbook Pro with Sonoma 14.1.2

I agree with you when you stated that it would be nice if you could use your widgets without unlocking your stream. It’s weird how Apple puts emphasis on security over your preference on some things, but not others. They don’t allow you to choose your own preference with the widgets, as you stated. But every single time there’s a new update, they automatically turn on, the battery optimizing. Even though you may have turned it off.

On that same note. If they were to allow energy optimization across all of your smart home devices via the HomeKit app. I hope that they leave your settings alone as you have them. Then give you the option to put a Control on, as you said, dimming your lights to 70%. I can see Apple taking it upon themselves, so that they can claim they’re doing something to help environment. Without asking your permission first. As hard as it is to get all of our smart devices exactly how we want it. It will upset quite a few of us if Apple releases something that messes everything up. Because we know that it will not adjust even how they plan. with any update. Which means we will have to go in to, for some of us, hundreds of items and redo everything that they have changed. Keep up the good if you are able to get anybody in to talk about the possibilities of Apple, and their future with their products.please relay to them that their updates shouldn’t automatically adjust or readjust things to the way they want. After all one shouldn’t brag about security if your other one tapping into other peoples lives and making changes without their permission.

Most of these are great and useful added features, but it’s still impossible to make a scene or automation to power-off an Apple TV and monitor (via CEC) in the Home App.

This isn't really about new Apple Home features, it's mainly (or is it all?) about features of newer Apple Watches and iPhones.

Apple needs to chill with the "clean energy" mother earth stuff. It can really backfire on them.

Home controls don’t show up on my Apple TV, even though I updated it. It’s a fairly recent Apple TV too. Do I need to activate it somehow?

if you want an iPad as a home hub just buy another one and set it up without a password that way guests can access it

I like Grid Forecast. I just wish it tied into automations and was more specific to utility providers who charge different rates based on time of day.

For me the standy screen does not stay on. On the iPhone 15. i have always on enabled..

Don’t have the temperature between two numbers on my thermostat, does this need to be a specific thermostat?

I thought the reason that the non pro iPhones didn't have always on is because it would consume more power since they don’t have the LTPO screen technology but if it’s plugged in why does that matter? So it can charge more quickly? In that case it should be an option in settings

No if you can use home controls in the control center without authentication then you should be able to do the same with stand by or at least have the option to toggle it

The home widget doesn’t work. I was able to try it on the beta 1. After that it just works if you have a HomePod or Apple TV.

Which accessory is it on your tv for FaceTime?

Those bracketed temperature controls drive me nuts. I’m very sensitive to temp, and want one specific temp. Can’t do it with a range which is +/- too many degrees.

Don’t ask for options to limit the security of iPhone just for convenience. IPhone is too valuable to be compromised.

The only Home feature I got with iOS17 was a home that goes offline for hours and online for about 1-2.

I hope Apple adds a digital clock widget so I can run some home controls beside it.

Damn to think we used to dream about these days!!! I really don’t mind the Face ID to control my home but if I choose to make it more accessible that should be my choice but I’ll digress.

Grid Forecast seems to be a bit lame: in Germany you can get electric power based on auctioned prices and the cheaper, the more renewable energy is in the grid. The price is adjusted hourly. I was hoping for a home feature to have the price as a trigger for automations.

I have a widget to open my garage door on the lockscreen, so I’m happy that I need to FaceID first!

In standby mode I’d be interested to know what effect it will have on battery life. Having it charging all the time surely won’t do the battery any good?

Can anyone recommend a brand of smart socket plug/adaptors that work with apple, I have about 8 of these which work with Alexa but they don’t always work, wondering if an apple HomeKit ones work better more reliable.
