Hello sir,
If one has pursued an MBA in HR from India from a tier 2 level university and has 5 years of work experience, will SHRM certification help if he aims to settle down and work in the USA or Canada. And what can be other international working opportunities in the HR domain. And will I being a male restrict number of international opportunities ?? It will be helpful if you can give some valuable inputs.

A HR person calls me from a company while I was looking out for a job. Happy me attends the Interview in Jan and gets selected in the first round (he confirmed). Then a week passes by and no response from his side. When asked for the next rounds he says client's taking a look at your profile and once he allots a time for you we will schedule.
Again after a week when I asked he says....this position is on hold from client's side. (Initially he said 2day wfo)

I was disappointed and then after a week the same HR calls me and asks me if I have some 'X' skill for some other client(project) which he had in his bucket list. I said I do not have and then he asks me If i can refer him any of my friends with that skill. I said 'Okay' and left it there.

Now post 5 weeks he calls me and says the same position which was on hold is now open and client is ready to take up the interview. I gave the interview and got selected from the client side and the same HR calls me says you have got selected but there is a catch...he says it'll will be 5 days WFO from 'X' month (after one & half month of joining) coz client is coming up with their new office in Bengaluru now (until then it'll be wfh). (he usually used to call post 8pm)

As I had put lot of effort for cracking this interview I agreed. Earlier he had said it was only 2 rounds but then he sets up another round which also I managed to crack eventually (after 2 days).

He got to know that I was keen with the role and as I was selected he immediately (same as usually post 8pm) said you got selected but there will be one more round (Directorial) tomorrow morning which is just to know about you..blah blah ..he said).
Yes I agreed and it was basically like he wanted me to nod for what all expectations he had OR thought the HR person might have already given a headsup to me on that.

Then whole day I waited and thought it was final. Post that he calls me and says you are selected ..Congratulations....now immediately share all the docs before I schedule a HR round with you tomorrow morning.

I had thought sharing our docs only happen post receiving the offer letter...but thats fine I shared and it was done.

Next day two of the HR persons take the interview (boasts that they were working in "XX Big companies prior to this). Although I wasnt interested in listening to his past track record I went on with it and finally I finished my HR round.

I wait wait wait for whole day and then post 10 pm the HR person sends me the offer letter
-----but with slightly twisted designation although he confirmed it was same for my year of exp).

I was fine with it AND most imp thing is these HR persons trap you to join the very next day.

Now I join the company and onboarding is done and all of that.
KT session starts post receiving my company laptop but interestingly the client person hadnt called me as they were busy setting up my client laptop which is fine..

When none had asked to come to office, the person who was basically a junior who was giving KT to me started asking when I would be coming to office. I was quite surprised to know why is she even asking me who was just some 'Y' person who is leaving the project. I said the agreed so and so date and she says OK. The next day she says client is EXPECTING you to come to office in next 2 days only. (Interestingly client had not at all spoke with me post joining Nor my emails/teams were setup)

KT was virtual and basically she had no idea I was a senior to her as she hadnt seen me.
When the director or the reporting manger or the HR or some other person is not asking about my return, why was she even asking me?!!! This pissed me off in the first place. It aint her business!!!!!

Two days later I figured out she was a person who is not willing to relocate to new office due to her family children blah blah ...story and had asked for a release.
The catch was they had scheduled a last date for her before which she had to provide KT to me and finish it off (but they hadnt disclosed this secret to me).

This KT which they say was not supposed to be virtual but on site.....was going here and there....
Now the water started to boil, got heated up...!!

I am not in the office, she aint getting her KT finished (which they thought they'll finish, which is not at all possible, that too within a week), her allocated dates are passing by...but her KT which she thought she can bluff and jump....did not happen...

------------------------------------------------------

to be continued.............

I have 2.5 years of cloud engineering and web development experience. After leaving my job due to health reasons, I returned home to assist my father's declining business. However, my health constraints prevent me from seeking traditional employment. I'm interested in remote DevOps roles but feel stuck and stressed about my situation thinking that I will get a job or not. Please help me here and guide me in my next step.

I am not telling you to refer me in your company just a guidance i need.

I joined capgemini at a very good pay. They rolled out the order post 2 rounds of client interviews.

After I joined the company, I got to know that the project I was hired for just got scrapped & client interviewed me again for another project which seems to be bad (Donkey labour sort of). I am able to crack the technical interview with client…now suddenly client want to have an another round of managerial interview…in which they rejected me for almost no reason.

I am on bench since 2 months…no project nothing. Even the RMG/HR doesn’t respond to my msgs/mails.

1. Completely avoid a tech company which doesn't use appropriate project life cycles and has no idea of the market requirements.
2. If your manager asks you to do sales work along with your tech work leave that company immediately.
3. Observe how your tech lead/project manager understands the project . If you're asking them genuine questions and they are not able to respond them correctly or are ignoring them , then start considering either to switch the project internally or start looking for possible alternative jobs

Hello sir, I got selected by a company and also agreed on the contract for 1 year, but they said that they would be providing the offer letter only after joining them and that too after 15 days of probation period. I resigned my last job but am not sure about joining this company w/o the offer letter. I'm confused about my next move.

Just run away if the company advertises the job with details such as new ways of working, or diversity, etc. these are the most toxic companies to work for. Wolves hiding under guise of sheep and use their virtue signaling as a weapon to destroy their competitors

1. Managers who accept more impractical work without considering limitations of tech team
2. Managers who consider team member as a mere "Resource" which can be used to put to work anytime (night shifts/weekends/overtimes)
3. No specific roadmap in your current role for your career to shape further
