This is meant as a constructive comment. I keep feeling you are so close to the camera and we could see more of your work if it was filmed from just a little more distance ?
ОтветитьWoo hoo. Thanks for including me in the montage 😍
ОтветитьHi I’m also making an Alicia Plummer pattern, the In Stillness II. I’m at about the same spot on mine as you were on yours when you filmed. I’m hoping on having it done for Christmas but I’m knitting it in secret so this ought to be interesting 😂
ОтветитьThe Shift Cowl is coming along so beautifully! Those colors will be perfect for multiple seasons! Can’t wait to see the rest of the colors!! Also, 10000% agree about flaws in our knitting adding character and endearment. It actually makes me feel better as a knitter when I know other knitters don’t fix every single mistake in their projects. It takes some pressure off to be perfect. Also, LIMEWIRE 😂. I think we’re the same age (32). It’s so funny remembering those risky days of Limewire 😂. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
ОтветитьYep just keep going! It’s fine and .. lol “therapy talks with Jackie “❤❤❤ hugs
I have been knitting for a long time and still make mistakes and some stay some don’t… improving is what matters… have fun and if you look close up at any of our makes there will be something and it’s still beautiful
Loved hearing you talk through your thought process on tackling some of your problem children (WIPs). When they hurt your feelings, move onto the next!

ОтветитьI would just duplicate stitch over those pick up stitches on the cardi cocoon so they'll blend in. I don't think there's any need to frog and redo your work!
ОтветитьWould love to see some footage of your trip to Wisconsin!
ОтветитьRegarding your color, Work socks… I’ve recently been seeing videos about Knitting color work inside out for small circumference knitting… Keeps the floats from becoming too tight so they fit better :-).
Ответитьwhen i notice errors in someone’s knit garment, my first thought is “oh hey, they knit too!” it’s like an unofficial flag to other knitters 😊

ОтветитьWhat yarn did you use on your Lumme sweater! Color amazing! Great job!
ОтветитьFor colorwork socks typically you will increase one sock size from your normal sock size and go up one needle size. Then knit inside out to keep floats loose and even.
ОтветитьThank you Jacque, for another most enjoyable podcast! I love, love your blue Lumme sweater ... it looks amazing. I had a few good laughs at the parts where you asked and answered your own questions ... I agree with continuing with the Cocoon cardi as is. It looks perfectly good!
Here in Canada we celebrate Thanksgiving in October and I was fortunate to go to someone else's place for a delicious turkey dinner.
Happy Knitting and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. 😊🤗
Palette cleanser pattern with palette yarn! Such a lucky husband!
ОтветитьLove the color of your Shift Cowl. A knitting retreat sounds like fun! 🧶
ОтветитьWhat is the quilt in the background please?
ОтветитьMy friends and I do our own knitting retreat every year in February or March and it is so much fun! It’s so fun to rent a place, knit, cook together, and watch trash TV all weekend. Have a great time!
ОтветитьBeautiful WIPs. I’m always reminding myself to embrace imperfection - it’s hard!
ОтветитьLove that shift also! I think I’ve made 4 total - 2 as gifts, 2 for me.
And I’d love to hear what you are planning for your knitting retreat! I’m trying to build my circle of knitting friends so I started a beginners knitting class and it’s all my girlfriends taking it! I am slowing building up to selling them on yarn festivals and doing a retreat! 😂
I would do one change to the sock at a time. Then you will know what to do every time that you make a color work sock. I have never made a stranded sock but many people have trouble with them being too tight.
ОтветитьWhen I make a knitting mistake I try to figure out how to fix it. I pretend that I’m taking a knitting class to improve my knitting. It helps me get through it.
ОтветитьFor your color work socks, you could also frog back to the ribbing and increase to 72 stitches for the color work. I've done that and it works fine ❤️
ОтветитьLove your Lumme pullover. I think the weight would be too warm for me...I max out at DK! But it is gorgeous.
ОтветитьYour Lume sweater is so beautiful - I need to make this!
