Beautiful song and singing. This is something that Russians do well. I only wish they could stick to doing this.
Ответитьgreat russian vodka spirit😁
Translated to English:
We rode in a troika with bells,
And lights flashed in the distance...
Oh, I wish I could follow you now,
To dispel my soul from melancholy!
The Long Road,
Moonlight weather,
Yes with that song
What flies into the distance ringing,
And with that old one,
Yes with a seven-string
What's at night
It tormented me so much.
Yes, it turns out we sang for nothing,
They burned in vain night after night.
If we're done with the old,
And so those nights passed away!
Russia, land of beautiful music and beautiful women!
PS I cannot say which comes first.
And very beautiful too. I suspect that Russians do nostalgia very well. I spent my family years in Portugal and they have a word 'saudade' which covers a nostalgic longing for what you are missing whether in time or in space. Thank you for expressing so beautifully what we feel.
Bravissimi russi, bella canzone.
Non sapevo fosse stata scritta in Russia.
Very nice, better than the english version.
Ответитьi thought Mary hopkin is the singer since 1969
Ответитьso beoutiful
Bravo Marie-Anne - beautiful version
We should use this beautiful song composed by Boris Fomin (1900–1948) and lyrics by Konstantin Podrevsky to help foster peace in Europe because Russia is European. The song was heavily plagiarized by Mary Hopkin's 1968 "Those Were The Days" which was a major hit in European pop music 50 years ago Music, please! Skip the governants; unite peoples!
I guessed the melody is close to Russian culture but never able to figure out exactly about the composer
Thank you for sharing the music
The melody is so wonderful that can match to any language and lyrics
This song carries such Power of Life, Strong meaning of Remembrance, Sung with a Woman's Beautiful, Powerful Voice. And the Musicians Carried the Depth of Meaning the top. Loved it Thank you❤
BRAVO MADAM BRAVO. From Southside VIRGINIA. WELL DONE. Thank You
SHE STEALS MY HEART... SUCH BEAUTY AND A VOICE OF ANGELS
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME
I have NEVER liked the song, but this is FAR superior to Mary Hopkin's screechy version .
Paul McCartney and Mary Hopkins equals a worldwide 🌐 hit song 🎵

Bravo Russia regards from Indonesia
Thank you verymuch.
👍🙏👏👏👏🌹♥️♥️♥️🌷🌠💫🌌😘
The song is very nice, but I do not understand a thing of what she says. So I like the English Version better.
I did not expect any less from the land of Tchaikovsky, Rimsky Korsakov, Brodin, Dostyrvsky, Tolstoy, Pasternak, Chekhov.
There is no one from UK, USA that can match the above list so why the surprise from so many of you?
France, Germany, Italy yes they have equivalent masters but not the English or the Americans.
Superb. Many, many thanks.
I bet when Mary Hopkin sang this song nobody in the West actually knew it was Russian.
Russians are among the very most romantic, literary and musical peoples on the planet! Wonderful!
Does anyone have the lyric
Whilst I admit this Russian original, is better than the English version, the second does not pale at all to me, as it is the one associated with my memories of youth, and I never listened this one, till recently. So it all depends on whether a song brings us nice remembrances or not.
Anglophones, if you know the english translation and listen to THIS you will see how pale the Hopkins rendition is in comparison. Bravo Bravisima!
