Cheers mate, you are up to date with my choices for the month. And an informative chat you ever going live?
ОтветитьIf you could only pick one K 100% Isay with least amount of Peat…which one…?
ОтветитьMachir
ОтветитьBugger, I bought the Kilchoman Casado when I was at the distillery last week and now I wish I bought the Machine Bay CS. I'm a sucker for distillery exclusives - not in a hurry to open it now.☹
ОтветитьSWA seems to have some seriously arbitrary, or at least, flexible, rules based on “tradition,” but this still begs the interesting question about the difference between “finished”, “aged”, “matured”, and “double matured”.
ОтветитьNo WINE-skey ! ! --- I always find wine-finished Scotch abit of a cheat, as if it tries to hide something bad on the nose or the malt, and masking it with wine may fudge or erase the harshness, or the distillers try to rid of a bad cask by re-racking them . . . Sherry is already a wine, why wine it again ? eh !
ОтветитьThe Casado Edition is matured it for six years in 38 first-fill bourbon barrels before marrying them for a further two years in a pair of 6,000 litre Portuguese red wine vats. The SWA rules require the whisky to be aged of a minimum of 3 years in oak casks not exceeding 700 litres. No restrictions on how they are finished as long as there are no additives.
ОтветитьLove Kilchoman. I only have Machir Bay and Sanaig. BTW, I like the Bruichladdich Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2013 Single Malt.
