TOP GAMES like Stardew Valley

First off, thank you so much for the love on our channel, it means a lot to us!

Second, we just wanted to address some things that got brought up to our attention, so please note before you dust off your pitchforks:

1. YES, we realized and knew that Stardew Valley is made by one person, the amazing Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone! We accidentally misspoke by saying 'developers' through habit, sorry we're not perfect!

2. After some further reading & comments about Super Zoo Story, we are aware that it's possible that the makers of the game have faced controversy due to being similar to Stardew in story and assets. We encourage you to do your own research to form your own opinions! As we are never here to impose on them or tell you which games you should or should not support!

Oh my, Witchbrook and Moonlighter look promising!

Potion Permit for me was a turn off, the map is super restrictive in a metroidvania way that you need to progress the main story to advance but collecting the things for the potions is boring and to make things worse you can only talk to people if they are interested in talking to you, otherwise there is nothing to do in the city, the cicle of the game is collect stuff, make potion, heal the people of the quest before the time runs out, talk to the people that want to talk with you to increase their favor and repeat, the only good part that i found in the game was the potion making

Sun Haven is so much fun! I almost like it better than Stardew

The zoo game looks cute, and I'm definitely getting Haunted Chocolatier. The only one not listed that I absolutely adore is Coral Island. I highly recommend it.

Core Keeper: a title for the genre specific fans of this type of game, multiplayer is much better. I would suggest finding a friend to play with and have a blast doing so, single player has extremely slow pacing which might be off putting. Don't get me wrong, I like the game . . . but until recently it was extremely lacking in content and I got bored.

Moonlighter: Amazing. It is in the same vein as Recettear and games like it. It plays great on switch and PC if you have a controller. It is a must play if you like rogue-lite likes AND mercantilism.

Little Wood: Gamified Animal Crossing. It is basically a less straight forward FORAGER but has town building and a light relationship system. If you just want to chill out and mindlessly grind, this might hit the right spot. It has quite a few mechanics which take time to present themselves.

Graveyard Keeper: Greater emphasis on interconnecting systems and GRIND. It is a fun experience if you like progression schemes and learning how to become as efficient as possible.

Potion Keeper: A condensed and simple gameplay loop. A pretty decent time if you like the loop and like me enjoy this type of artistic direction.

One Lonely Outpost: Extremely rough and in dire need of the duration of the Early Access period. The people making the game seem like nice people, are active with the community, and have actually added certain features over the last months that were suggested. It is all but a walking simulator as this point, but I chose to buy it near launch because I like supporting indie. The video shown for this list is still mostly "concept" even now, it has a long way to go but it is a hopefully completed because I like the art design and positive vibes. I have a decent job, so price isn't a problem.

Pixel Shire: Wishlist? Still no ETA, I hope its great

Haunted: Buying day 1 and possibly on multiple platforms. Simps Unite. Eric made me a lifetime customer, he was extremely helpful and friendly all throughout pre-release until even now. Great guy and hes got my money.

Witchbrook: Chucklefish, as much as people like to rag on them, I hope it turns out great. It is still has no ETA after 6 months since this video posted.


Zoostory: Art asset debackle, stolen assets. Developer kind of missed the mark in my eyes, but all of the current game assets have been made in house? It might be fun, but I won't support dishonest people.

I'd recommend outlets aswell! 🙂

Moonlighter is unplayable. The way they designed the controls is awful on PC, you can't even get beyond the main menu without going to the support forums.

Graveyard Keeper is a great option.

Useful video with good suggestions. For me timestamps would improve it as well as either multiple mentions of title or title on screen. Appreciate the platform info as lots of channels don't do that, which I find irksome

do any of these games have good character customization? and are you able to run around barefoot if you wanted?

Plenty of farm sims use 16bit pixel arts graphics. Sorry but ugly graphics hurt my eyes & contrary to the purpose of cozy games. I like the look of potion permit & moonlighter tho, those don't look as flat as others.

I would add "Dave the diver" a fairly new game with a similar vibe as SV. Anyone should try it, it is a gem !
