Mixing is putting the ingredients together. Mastering is the cooking process. The final product is the food you eat.
Ответитьgood info bro - Peanskean Riddler
ОтветитьYou should do a video on auto tune and getting a less noticeable auto tune and the use of flanger, phaser on rap and r&b vocals

Ответитьgood video , very well explained
ОтветитьHi can you just tell me that while you are mixing the speakers are set at half volume? Or they are kept at full and you are taking care the master track meter doesn't go red.....plssss tell...I'm quite confused abt these theory
ОтветитьSuper
ОтветитьWeezna, your explication of the differences makes TOTAL SINCE, to me anyway! I don't know why anyone would Master during the mix phase, unless they have found their own style of creating music, which would be cool to check out but overall, I too, agree, about keeping the two phases separate, it just makes good sense to be able to have a copy of your original mix save down, in case you want to revisit it or even make a new remixed version.
ОтветитьDo you think it's okay to add about 2dbs of mid boost EQ on the master channel for some mixes that overall sound a bit flat and THEN master it with it(myself or sending it out to an engineer)? Or am I just better of to do totally everything during mastering?
ОтветитьIs it advisable to use mixing/tracking hardware processors for mastering, e.g. multiband-compressor?
ОтветитьLove your videos, Weezna! You're the man!
ОтветитьHello Sir I how are you?? Firstly except my warm Hii. Sir mixing and mastering is a big deal to understand or any body can easily learn it
ОтветитьWhy do you need a mixed file and a masterd file
ОтветитьI've heard of a file format called .flac being used for mastering. If this is true, then you seem to prefer having a mix and a master file/folder separate, perhaps specifically when the mixer and masterer are different parties.
ОтветитьThank you a lot!
ОтветитьLol he basically said it, mastering is making it as loud as possible. It’s crappy that this is what modern music has become. Loudness wars suck!

ОтветитьHi Weezna!
I am Wayne from Jamaica.
What's the cost to mix and master?
THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN! I WAS SO CONFUSED ABOUT MIX AND MASTER THING......IM ALL CLEAR NOW!!!
ОтветитьI hate when people come to me with those MP3 beat files and try to rap or sing over them. Even if the are 320kbps it is still difficult to EQ because there are still artifacts in it. Much better if you can get your hands on a WAV file. In all honestly it is better to have everything separate because you can not change anything if its already a stereo 2 track. Yeah you can EQ it and add some processing but you might only end up making it sound worse.
ОтветитьCould you mix and master our next album?
ОтветитьThank you, well explained
ОтветитьHi I have an question what book would you recommend for beginners to learn about MIX/Mastering?
ОтветитьAmazing video!! You just earned a subscriber :)
ОтветитьMastering -- A sound quality depreciation process. It is where the notorious loudness war's happening.

ОтветитьNice. Thank you.
ОтветитьGreat explanation. When I first started seriously delving in to electronic production about a month ago, this was one of my main questions since a lot of content creators seem to regularly use the terms interchangeably. To my chagrin, googling for an answer at the time left me feeling even more confused. Today it finally clicked for me when messing around with my individual track levels in FL Studio. I realized that I was "mixing" my tracks together, and then it occurred to me that "mastering" must just be finalizing the "master track" ... lo and behold my more specific google query sent me here. Thank you for confirming! :)
ОтветитьU get it buddy let's go
