Keep in mind, this was not a build example. It's a deeper look at mechanics that can synergyze with (almost) any setup. You will pick and choose them depending what you want to do.

The new skill tree is made up of important characters abilities from either the game or anime so you can't really make a build that's completely unique. I don't know if that bothers anyone as much as it bothers me though.

Technical Ability was by far the strongest skill tree back then, I was hitting 500k++ damage per shot with Comrade's Hammer and the crafting perks was just a bonus. Now Technical Ability skills tree is far less important than it was before. Cool skill tree was the 2nd best and it's also not important anymore. IMO, Body/Reflex are great choices now. Technical Ability is good for the cyberware upgrades but the pistol/revolver route is definitely not as strong as it once was but I guess it was for the best.

After watching this video I am still completely lost. Spent a lot of time playing this game pre 1.5, 1.5, & 1.52. I don't know what works well or not now with new perks and don't want to waste them. Don't understand how attribute points are still locked in old way, but can reconfigure. It's completely different and it's not intuitive. Also didn't see the relic choice although Phantom Liberty is installed. Don't understand how to build the armor up, with gear it keeps saying I can use level 5 parts to upgrade Cyberware. Miss pre 1.5 clothing mods where I can just be a tank and get on with it. I can't proceed because this skill tree has become incredibly complicated and prevents even getting started on DLC.

That’s the bad thing about new perks you can ruin a build because they force you to play certain ways all you need is a melee weapon or a throwing weapon and bam win

Would you say it makes more sense to spec strictly into one attribute or another for a specific build, or is it possible to make a good hybrid build? I want to be able to do a little bit of netrunning on top of a Reflex/Cool build. So, probably majority into Reflexes, and then some into both Cool and Intelligence, I guess, right? I'm starting the game over completely tonight, so I guess I'll have plenty of time to just mess with it. I've played this game 3 times already and never made it past "Meet Hanako at Embers". lmao

Maybe I’m just stuck in the past but I honestly liked the old skill tree perks better. I like how the revamped skill trees into being a tiered level thing rather than each perk for each level, but the actual perks themselves just seem kinda lame to me now compared to what they were. It all boils down to play style though I suppose. Like for me, I’m never gonna use the dash mechanics. I’m never gonna use things like deadeye or fury or overclocked. It’s just not for me.

Cybernetics are cool but its a shame that one cyberware will cost you like 80k-100k.

so is the dying night style, ricochet-headshot archetype dead now, or do we just have to build it way differently, please? I'm leaving my level 26 V (which was my Dying Night build, in progress) for now, to focus on a new hacker/monowire character (definitely using your new video as a guide to help me with it) but I'd definitely love to come back to my level 26 as well, even if I just restart this character again, it's a build I was really into.

All the bullet time you have access to, the crazy headshot multipliers, the ricochet was so much fun as well. I may have originally even got this build from you as well, I forget. After seeing handguns moved to cool though, and that we have no skills linked to ricochet, I assumed they wanted to kill off the build to make room for new stuff.

Would be awesome if it can make a come back, just a bit different though. Would definitely love to see an updated, automatic pistol/headshot/ricochet build, if it's at all possible to do again.

PS: so looking forward to the smart SMG's.

I'm really disappointed that Tech guns got sidelined so badly. Before 2.0 I always just ran with a tech revolver and a shotgun... in 2.0 tech weapons don't seem to synergize all that well with any build at all (and get like 1 talent cluster in the upper right of the tech tree and that's it. The only thing tech weapons do (other than shoot through walls ofc) is leveling up Engineer path.... Even tech revolvers were nerfed to hell by adding charge time to them. My poor Burya..
Until modders get to it, tech weapons are now just gimmicks you can use with the Stalker eyes to shoot alert enemies through walls, but since they lost the talents that made their damage huge, they now lose to any other type of gun in an open fight.

Btw can someone explain to me how gaining crafting specs work in 2.0? I feel like I got some by disassembling the weapons but that might be just a feeling. Even with iconics, sometimes you get a weapon outright and sometimes just a crafting spec... when the 21GB PL patch finally finishes downloading I gotta try disassembling my Fenrir to see if I get a crafting spec or if it just gets lost forever.

I wish these early access people would stop lying about things being better. Health packs are worse and on a cooldown. Cyber ware is FAR worse and again have ridiculous cooldowns. Plus you extreme limitied on what you can equip unless you max out the texh tree wasting both attributes and perks just to use anything worth while. In what way is giving people less l, better? Its not. Its different, definitely not better, and I'd argue worse.

to be honest there is nothing worse for me, after spending 200 hours of game time with a product to be asked to rebuild my character from scratch with a full set of new talent trees, rules, equipment style etc... I just cant bring myself to study the trees the new equipment rules, to try and find out how I want my character in Cyberpunk 2.0... I get why CDPR had to do this, but it is a major turn off for me. I wish someone just gave me a build and for me to go with it. I cant be bothered reading all this stuff in menus after so much time already spent doing that before...i cant justify it.

Had a look through the skill tree last night and the options seened pretty obvious on what to take if you already had a playstyle in mind. I Iike swords and shotguns, So I grabbed the good looking stuff from body and reflexes then worked into tech to grab the cyber capacity perks.

All I know is that overclocking your cyberdeck is really useful, I can wipe out a whole area of enemies before they even know exactly what is going on. Just be sure to have a high health regen or pop a bunch of health extenders though.

Not sure I’d call these builds op in comparison to pre update builds. You didn’t need to invest in certain trees to get the most out of your dps but now you’re required to invest in tech or you’ll just be a weak, instead of being dedicated to being a pure net runner build or melee build or even a tech free ninja you now need to be a jack of all trades.

And in regards to clothing all the mod slots they removed form the clothing took away extra stats like base movement speed, crit rate, armour etc. and it’s now all in your cyber wear but you can’t pick in choose the stats attached to each piece.

And also only select weapons have mod slots, I now have several maxed weapons I can’t add anything to and about 50 optics because I can’t use them on anything or I have the mods and that only work on one weapon type and the gun I have of that type doesn’t have a slot to put anything in.

Tony Nova
Tony Nova - 25.09.2023 00:46

The main thing I hated was the best net runner skill which is chaining to extra people is tied behind activating a perk during combat. I would rather just chain without investing in that perk. So I went body, tech, and cool

I mean so far my build is a Jack of all traits, so far my newest character is super heal based rn I heal so fast I never take any damage on top of that I’ve got great melee and Amazing Cyberdeck. My Character is a true Cyberpunk and I cannot wait to get the newest perks and cybernetics in Phantom Liberty
