Toyota is a global company. They know about transportation. Tesla and Rivian are just about the hype. They are selling just the Hype. The truth is a Tesla is so heavy that uses way more energy than a Toyota Yaris or a Honda Fit in the battery manufacturing process. Independient studies demonstrates that a Yaris is more eco friendly than a Tesla in the first 12 to 14 years. Who wants a 14yr old used Tesla ? That means the Tesla will never be more ecofriendly that a compact car like the Honda fit or Toyota Yaris. The consumer does not know ant those activist should be deeply documented. Yes we must go towards green, but with smaller cars not with teslas that weight more than a F-150 truck. Makes sense ?
ОтветитьWe know EVS are charged with fossil fuels, and use rare earth minerals in the batteries acquired through strip mining etc. The question is how long will the public buy the lie?
ОтветитьKatherine should just stop talking bcuz evs are expensive for the rest of us in the world and electricity is expensive. U guys can focus on ur evs in america but let toyota do there thing and make cars for the rest of the world they dont need EV to survive
ОтветитьRule #1, Don't put all eggs in 1 basket!!
ОтветитьToyota should do a recall on TOXIC MOLD in the HVAC of new toyota's
...
A year later, it seems Toyota is right to wait and see...
ОтветитьE i, e i, o..
ОтветитьThere is no disadvatage to come in to EV battle later for Toyota. All the information cant be hidden these days. They will research other's failure well and come up with perfect product when the time is right. Toyota already has great number of patents on EV technology as well.
ОтветитьToyota is the only company not trying to sell the lie of all the ev manufacturers and governments.they are crap not ready for everyday life of anyone, then include countries infrastructure.look what happens in a heat wave.the power goes out.the only good place to plug in all those cars is fantasy land.
Ответитьthis didnt age to well
ОтветитьEvs are not the future. Toyota is smart.
ОтветитьIf Americans really cared about carbon emissions, they would invest in better public transportation and rely less on individual cars.
ОтветитьI think the Toyota executives know what they're talking about. I'll keep my 2008 Toyota Avalon and you can have all the electric cars you want.
ОтветитьTurns out they where right...
ОтветитьToyota is right
ОтветитьKatherine Garcia is scolding Toyota.
ОтветитьI don’t think Toyota is too late to the EVs, the environment friendly materials and comfortable inner designs, the enough and proper spaces among passenger sits, hope they can keep their advantages or good-at, to guide a better living with car style.
Ответитьrestisting?
ОтветитьSo, a no-one like Katherine Garcia believes Toyota are no longer "innovative" and no longer "sustainable" in her eyes. Well, get a LASIK done. What she quotes is a PIG mentality backed back no research. Toyota is the company which is putting in efforts in Hydro fuel cells. On the front, EV looks lucrative with 0 emissions. But she fails to recognize the emissions for creation of EVs. But hey, as they say, empty vessels make the most noise.
ОтветитьLol CNBC wrong as usual.
ОтветитьToyota isnt late to EVs. Everyone else is early.
ОтветитьEV's are a transition technology, no electric network would be able to provide electricity if all cars were EV's, it is physically impossible, hydrogen will come in less than a decade to take the place of EV's, and Toyota is just waiting.
ОтветитьSorry im going late for work 1 hour. Im charging my TESLA.
ОтветитьAnd why exactly they are late?
Any hybrid converts into an EV just by increasing battery size.
It's that simple.
Everything else is ready.
Toyota had powerful hybrid cars decades ago. The Only thing missing was cheap battery.
They are doing a smart thing: they sell what brings the best profit for them.
Ye why is toyota „RESTISTING“?
ОтветитьToyota lives in a real world where 5 bilion people dont have reliable access to the electricity. What EV 😂
ОтветитьToyota is right. Fuckig hate government socialist forced ev change
ОтветитьCause evs are stupid
ОтветитьToyota is late to the party and trying to gaslight everyone into thinking their right.......your whole line up doesn't have to be electric nether should they be the worst ev on the market.........you might service a 150 nation but majority of your profitability still sits in the north american European and chinese market......ALL COUNTRIES TOYOTA ARE TRYING TO SLOW SO IT DOESN'T HAVE TO CATCHUP BECOME OF IT IGNORANCE
Ответить12 months later, toyota was right. EV's waning in popularity and Toyotas foresight was spot on.
ОтветитьStill in 2024 I'm absolutely with Toyota. Eastern Europe still with diesel.
ОтветитьToyota is not behind, just the contrary, they have been perfecting electric drivetrains for a quarter of a century but they are smart enough to know not to bet on a dead horse(EV's). Hydrogen drivetrains are also an expensive dead horse. Hybrids are the best way to go. Hydrogen vehicles are no more "zero emission" than the power plants that supply the energy to produce the hydrogen.
ОтветитьThose manufacturers who have made a "big investment" in EV's are back peddling and the bigger the faster in order to save their companies from bankruptcy!! Ford and GM are in the deep dive now. No way in hell are EV's 15% of the California market!
ОтветитьEVs is a scam.
ОтветитьI have to agree with Toyota’s strategy. It’s 2024 and we have long ways to go in the matter of improving EV’s infrastructure
ОтветитьThe fact that CNBC put this video out without bothering to reference the fact that EV popularity and sales in the US have tanked in the past year and a half, and many companies that have put out EV models are struggling to sell the inventory they have (outside of Tesla) is mind boggling. The only reason that's not happening in EU countries is because of their communist laws forcing EV adoption (similar to CA in the US ofc). Toyota knows what's up.
ОтветитьHang in there, Toyota! Don't let the tree huggers push you around!
Ответитьthis didn't age well, EVs are like a phone they barely last 5 years and we just throw them away , not a good investment. Toyota is correct to go hybrid all the way, easy cheap battery swap.
ОтветитьToyota will come out as winners since EVs cannot replace petrol and diesel cars. Customers have been waking up to this fact lately and are now aware of the limitations of EVs. Demands for EVs are falling quickly especially in colder climates where EVs suffer badly from short range.
The climate scare is a scam. CO2 do not control climate, the Milankowic cycle is the main driver.
Wow, a company that doesn’t want to gamble its future, how shameful!
Ответитьtoday, look like toyota was right, people want hybrids, not BEV
Ответитьas of January 23 2024, we are seeing reduction of EV's sales world wide and people coming to realisation that EV's are as much or more expensive to run and maintain the car as gas powered ones, and we are also realising that EV's are not green nor save environment as we have thought.
finally coming to Toyata, they made the correct decision going all in Hydrogen power
so far what we know:
1. EV's are not env safe
2. EV's do more harm to env
3. EV's batteries are not getting cheaper as much we expected,
4. EV's disrupt the after sales industry which will cause lose of jobs
5. EV's are not gonna let normal mechanic to service vehicles (Right to repair) and all will have to go to dealer to get things service
6. EV's don't give you owner shop to your vehicles as you can't modify anything on your own
7. EV's have less service cycles, but overall service costs are high and balance out losses for massive corp
8. EV's are making your electricity bill much costlier for everyone whether we have ex's or not, as the overall load of electricity is increasing
9. EV's causing job loss, inturn is hurting the consumer as in case he is stuck in remote area with a breakdown he has to tow his vehicle to the nearest dealer
10. and the list goes on and on......
If Toyota listened to Katherine Garcia they'd be having layoffs like Ford and GM now.
ОтветитьHybrids are the future not evs
ОтветитьToyota has no responsibility to make electric cars . They have a responsibility to its shareholders and stakeholders. When markets dictate they will build EVs
ОтветитьCorrect the spelling mistake in thumbnail 🥲
ОтветитьToyota is a dinosaur.
ОтветитьToyota have fallen way behind. Will they ever catch up?
ОтветитьThey won't go missing of course. But they would miss the growth in the long run.
ОтветитьBecause EVs are not mature for the broad public and therefore the vast majority of car sales are still ICE. Not everyone has his own garage with a charger. If you have a garage there is an, admittedly small, risk that your house can burn down. Middle-class EVs are still too expensive. Range is limited, even more so in warm and cold weather or when driving fast. Charging takes a long time, even if you find a working charging station and are first in line. Especially in cold weather. Depreciation is large, insurance is more expensive. Small damages to the battery mean you have to buy a new car. Even without damage, battery guarantee is only 100 000 km. If you get stuck, for example in a traffic jam because the battery is dead, no one can come with a can and fill the car up. This is not a product for the common man.
Whether an EV is environmentally friendly in operation depends on how the electricity is produced. And besides, if 50% of the population were driving EVs, the current electrical infrastructure would break down.
