This was one of his common known fans too. It's not hard to AT LEAST do the bare minimum and say "Stay strong" but for a known fan especially it doesn't surprise me she was comfortable being honest at that point and its a great opportunity for him to take it a step further and tell his community to support each other and not have to hide their feelings, especially when he asked.
