The reduction gear can fail if you do strong accelerations or if you use extensively Regen 3. 2019-2020 premature motor bearings failure. 2019-2021 early Li-Ion battery failure (under 20,000 miles). Fabric seats not conformable, GPS only with larger screen.
ОтветитьIf you brake unnecessarily and have to accelerate again, you waste energy as energy gained from braking is not 100% efficient. On that basis, I don't use paddles and use foot brake as more responsive and can avoid slowing down too much (which can happen with paddles) and having to speed up again, which wastes energy as more energy required to speed back up than is stored when slowing
ОтветитьIt's a terrific car for your needs and you evidence it well. I only wish you did more to contrast that with other users, in particular families with young children. I had the opportunity to buy a 2021 Kona EV but was forced by family considerations back into a Nissan LEAF SV Plus.
ОтветитьWhat is the effect of using air conditioning on range?
ОтветитьI'm going to swap my Toyota CHR hybrid in for one of these. I don't know what it is but I just cannot gel with my CHR....can't put my finger on why but I just want it gone!!
ОтветитьSorry to break into your regeneration discussion, but I have a question about one pedal driving and full power regeneration. If you come to a full stop using one pedal driving, do your brake lights turn on? or do you just get rear-ended by the big diesel blob behind you? I happen to like seeing the brake lights of the car in front of me when they think it is time to stop their vehicle. The wording in this post is clearly one of an American, so I hope I don't offend any British language sensibilities. That last part was just my little joke, Neville.
ОтветитьYouve gotta luv this guy, I never get bored of watching this video, I saw it when it first sprung up & no idea how many times since ?
Ive now got this same colour Kona but 2020 & I smile when Im in it & remember some of the comments 😁 & the pheasent wandering past the fence haha...
Keep up the good work with Fully Charged Robert, I hope you make the 1 million subs this year 👍
Stay Charged M8 😎
Amazing fantastic wow just amazing and fantastic .......
ОтветитьThanks for this, I’m trying to decide between a used Kona or tesla. Leaning towards the Kona as it has more range than the model three I’m looking at and the other big factor is insurance @2k for the tesla v £650 for the Kona. The tesla has advantages for charging convenience etc. the Kona a hatch back so a little mor practical for trips to the dump site etc. i still haven’t made up my mind.
ОтветитьSorry we have top spect kona -8 motorway speeds we got 245 miles with car showing 30 miles range left . Sorry this car consistanly gives 310 spring summer 285 miles we never gone below 10% left on battery this car gives way better real world distance. If I drive it in normal mode never use eco .
Things we do not like single zone climate.
Hard ride.
The tyres they have poor grip.
Dab radio is poor quality for ever dropping out.
Things that are good
Come with heat pump in the price
Heated and cooled seat in the front work great
Electric seats
Heated rear seats
The standard kit is very very good way to much put many expensive cars to shame.
Dealer happy to haggle on price.
Difficult choice: 2015 Kia Soul for 10K or this 2018 Kona for 15K
ОтветитьI just traded my Tesla Model 3 for the gas Kona yesterday. Honestly the luxury of the Tesla isn't necessary and I love the Kona's general functions. I am planning to pay it off ASAP and then wait 5-10 years with maintaining this car, and then reassess where the EV market is. I'd like to see the EV Kona have 350+ miles of range and be cheaper.
ОтветитьMost saught after car in the world????? Don't think so
ОтветитьGreat video! All true, I’m an owner of a 2021 and loving the cars great qualities. Looking forward to more videos in the future, cheers!
ОтветитьBrilliant Review but i am getting older by the day and I ordered my Kona Ultimate in February 2022 and still no sight of actually opening the doors getting in and starting my Driving experience .... What is the possible delivery dates for deliveries
ОтветитьI love how even the heads-up display assembly involuntarily makes futuristic noises. Bloody great
ОтветитьJust ordered my Kona ultimate, 6 to 9 months before it arrives.
I found your video very informative and not presented as if the presenter is trying to show off how much they know to the viewer.
Will watch more soon.
This guy does the best reviews ever
ОтветитьSo... after 140,000 km, I had my first car part replaced, which went bad, covered by warranty: some bearing on the front-right suspension mount.
If I look, however, on recalls, I must point out that my battery was changed, although it didn't had any kind of degradation (still 420 km range in the city during the winter and 250 km range on the highway in the 10-80% range - 330 km range full battery - at 120 km/h ACC) after 123,000 km.
Brilliant car. I only wished it had 20 liters more boot space and a bit faster charging rate.
Have just watched this for possibly the third time. We have now owned our Kona Ultimate for just over six months. Robert was absolutely right about everything he said about the Kona. It is brilliant.
Ответить👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьThank God for the Brits. Their superior education system shows through on channels like this. I deeply love my country USA. But while we spend all of our time arguing about how many bullets we can load in our AR-15 magazines, we fall further and further behind the rest of the Western world. Let alone China. Sad. So much potential wasted.
ОтветитьI've love this channel! Thank you for offering so much value! I've learnt a lot from you Robert (and the rest of the crew). Amazing information on the channel. The true EV gurus! 🙂
ОтветитьI have a kona electric trick in texas. So lucky to get one and I absolutely love it
ОтветитьIs the Kona type approved for Towing?
ОтветитьJust my two cents - I live in the northeast and am a very conservative drive due to many many highway miles and I can tell you that my full winter range never dipped below 290 miles. During the summer, I am able to squeeze out almost 400 miles on a full charge. I love this car. It’s a mite small for me (6’4”), but it’s great. First EV after two hybrids, I’m probably with Hyundai for life.
On a side, you should do a comparison between the Kona and the Ionic. The differences are subtle but end up being substantial for a two car produced by the same company.
Such efficiency and this is a car designed for combustion gas engines. I can get a really good price on one, but almost want to see how good the ionic 3 and 1 will be as well as Kia’s ev4 and 2. These smaller versions of the ioniq 5 a d EV6 should be at least a efficient with faster charging times and a good price tag.
ОтветитьNoooo, why did i order Nissan Leaf MY2022. This has everything i like more: ground clearance, less drag, fast charging D:
ОтветитьI. love the Kona! Awesome video 🚙
Ответитьregen zero is how I drive my current IONIQ, i get good efficiency this way.
ОтветитьThis is the car for me.
ОтветитьBrilliant video Bobby I’ve just had one delivered the other day and I love it , I upgraded from a Mini Cooper and the car is amazing
I watched this so many times while deciding and it really helped me choose
Thank you 🙂
Ответить"Back in the olden days when theyre were people around" ...1 year ago bwhahaha
ОтветитьCan it tow?
ОтветитьLoved the research on the regen braking done near the end of the video, as did the cock-pheasant in the field, who stopped to listen, maybe he incorporated the idea into his flight characteristics later on?
ОтветитьFinally got my hand over date for my new kona 2022, can't wait! 2 days time from now. I went for the ultimate trim and the surfey blue colour. Really can't wait!!
ОтветитьVery likeable guy with good sense of humour!!! Will deffo watch more.
ОтветитьWatched your review and subscribed, was there a heat pump on this car
ОтветитьI don't know. In Canada, Ioniq 5 is $45K. Kona is $43.7K. I don't see any reason to get the Kona. It needs to be close to $35K to be competitive. That's the issue with EVs. Like computers, they get obsolete very quickly. Of course, all ICE cars are obsolete now, but at least they can be dirt cheap. Base Venue is only $17.6K.
ОтветитьReally helpful review. Thanks. May I ask what colour that Kona is. Could it be Jungle Green?
Ответитьhow many gone in smoke cuz LG chem battery kit in Au!
ОтветитьHow do current EV batteries degrade over time? How do ambient conditions affect the charging?
ОтветитьI was about to get a Kia e Niro until l saw this :)
ОтветитьI'm now 6 months and about 9,200 miles in on my 2021 model. So far, really great - very efficient and problem free.
ОтветитьBack in the olden days.... LOL
ОтветитьExcellent review of the Hyundai Kona EV! You might have helped me decide on another electric vehicle!
ОтветитьI am paying $1.25 to fill up my EV Kona while my wife pays $60 top fill up the Toyota Camry. The initial cost is being more than offset.
ОтветитьBrilliant, informative and entertaining review ….oh yes and I want one !
