U.S. EMBASSY PROGRAM IMPROVES HEALTH CARE IN TAJIKISTAN

Dushanbe, Tajikistan, March 2, 2011 -- The U.S. Government through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) began a series of 3 workshops for 64 health care specialists at the Center of Evidence-based Medicine at Tajik State Medical University. Workshop participants will develop methods to detect, prevent, and treat tuberculosis, HIV, and other diseases. These workshops are part of the USAID Quality Health Care Project and were developed at the request of the Ministry of Health. Mid-career training is critical for Tajikistan's health care specialists get the latest information about modern healthcare practices.
