You think any antimemetic division research sees this, either horrified an antimemetic knife got loose or "ugh, here we go again."
ОтветитьI feel like this SCP would make for a great example case in spotting the warning signs of a cognitohazard SCP. After testing, make sure to check the following:
-There are no anomalous holes in researcher staffing: every job is accounted for and appropriately staffed.
-There are no sharp increases/decreases in D Class personnel, that can’t be explained through an outside source.
-Researcher observations and video recording data are in congruence with each other.
-Check the previous testing history for excessive repetition of the same test, or a continued failure to problem a seemingly obvious test.
A knife, one that makes some pretty screwed up dreams, yeah like that's something I'll pick up. This is the sort of antique that should just get 'lost' somewhere never to be accessed again. Safe doesn't mean dangerous, and nightmares of ritualistic murder are not something I would find to be benign in any way - especially when those nightmares are actually a memetic manipulation... I always detest things that can mess with my memories xD
ОтветитьThis scp took a turn. I just thought it was a harmless hallucination scp.. But.. God no
ОтветитьNote how it stated he made 9 attempts to send in more D-Class during the last test. Meaning they would send in two, they would die and be erased, and then he would send in two more unaware of what happened. That is comical but also incredibly horrifying, like sheep going into the slaughter
ОтветитьThe knife excises memory and perception of it's victims and their remains.
ОтветитьIt forces one to kill others and devoure their heart. It then removes all memory and evidence of the victim's existence from the host and any existing documentation
ОтветитьHey, I don't mean to make a big issue out of this, but why did you use the term "posttraumatic stress syndrome" instead of posttraumatic stress disorder? I went to the original article and (maybe he changed it after you did the voice-over idk) and it says PTSD. I think PTSD is more appropriate because it is the clinical term for it and PTSS is a term I've only heard people without PTSD and without phycology/social work/psychiatry degrees use. I'm not trying to start anything or get political, but as a person with actual diagnosed PTSD, I prefer that PTSD because it is a disorder. I understand "syndrome" is less stigmatizing, but it is still stigmatizing. Additionally, I feel calling it a disorder causes people to treat it more seriously then they would if it was called a "syndrome." Again, I'm not trying to start anything, but PTSS is just a term I dislike and if you like that term, I'm not going to have a meltdown about it. I just wanted to share my opinion as a person who has it.
Ответитьok so they remember what the knife makes them do but they recognize it as a dream because anyone killed with the knife and who have their heart eaten by the wielder are completely forgotten. Since the people they killed don't exist they see the memory as something they dreamed up because the victims aren't existing people.
ОтветитьAhh, the old 'Jack The Ripper' artifact.
ОтветитьFunny how opening a seemingly uneventful scp report, can turn into one of the best one heard about :)
ОтветитьAh yes, “safe.”
ОтветитьIt took me untill "include two d- class in the next test" and then it hit me. OH THAT WAS SUCH A GOOD TWIST.
ОтветитьHehehe, yikes XD
ОтветитьThe test chamber for D-85373 is pilled high with invisible and intangible corpses of the assistant lead researcher and 19 D-Class personnel. D-85373 consumed 20 raw human hearts and died of septic shock.
I get what this article is going for but it seems like the foundation would be intelligent enough to pick up that the knife is erasing people from memory and that should be the afterword.
Wow that's fucking scary.
Ответитьlady gaga has entered the chat
Ответить“Why do I have a crib?”
ОтветитьEffects: any victim injury is unable to be identified or recognized by anyone. This is a form of cognitive hazard and invisibility. All memories and records of victims are in essence erased from history with the sole exception of the user being able to vaguely recall a “dream” of them. In reality the user gains a minor resistance to the knife’s power and can only watch as it forces the user to sacrifice its victims to the ultimate form of death. The damage caused by the scp still exists but is in essence invisible to the eye
Ответитьsafe because all the unsafe things happening are swept under the rug !
ОтветитьWhy am I starting at the spear of destiny
ОтветитьNot only are a bunch of D-classes and the assistant researcher still lying rotting in the test chamber, there's also a pile of cardiac tissue somewhere in the infirmary.
How has nobody accidentally tripped over or stepped on it yet?
I lo
ОтветитьMan your vocal performances have only skyrocketed, accent work is amazing and so varied. Serious talent. Been amazing to watch you progress from my introduction to your content with SCP-1000
ОтветитьAfter reading the "We Who Poke With Sticks" comic, I feel like this SCP was particularly irksome to identify
ОтветитьI really want to read "There is no Antimemetics Division". I don't even know how long it's been sitting on my shelf for. I think I must have bought it used, because it looks super worn out..
ОтветитьLooks like the spear of destiny.
ОтветитьGod I loved the twist on this one. I was like "Huh.. that is an odd one.. maybe it's another dimension or.."
Then the horror of what it actually does locks into place.
Insidious
ОтветитьThe line ‘Why do I own a crib?” gave me chills.
Don’t suppose there’s an explanation of the logistics of this SCP anywhere??
the spear of destiny....
ОтветитьBump
ОтветитьI love the item SCPs because the writers are forced to actually come up with something clever instead of just going ''It's a monster that kills people''
ОтветитьSo... The people are actually getting killed, and the bodies are around, but no one can see or detect them, except for the smell...
That shit is fucked up.
I think I can explain this as a knife that removes people from perception. I believe the D-class's stomach ruptured from earing too many hearts, and they aren't dreams. Also, the rotting meat are the D class that wete killed.
SCP's are crazy sometimes.😊
This is the first scp to make me physically drop my jaw in a while. Holy shit, MAJOR props to The Great Hippo
ОтветитьIt isn't anomalously rusty or anomalously smelling like rotten meat. It just hasn't ever been cleaned.
ОтветитьI am always more interested in the artifacts and the items in the SCP universe over the story of the four gods
ОтветитьANTIMEME! Was thinking ppl was just forgetting from the fist time it mentioned that it didn't match any D Class personal. Just kept being more sure as time went on.
ОтветитьA wonder that no one trips over the bodies
ОтветитьCensoring the word suicide is kinda immersion destroying, not gonna lie. SCP stuff is supposed to be clinical and dry, and censorship entirely focused solely on dangerous information.
ОтветитьNow I wonder if SCP 3041 is able to be interactable with SCP-173
ОтветитьI like and don't like this one. Them never realizing whats going on kinda turns the whole thing into an idiot plot.
ОтветитьDamn I guess that guy killed his whole family with it
ОтветитьDear Lord, I just realized why that D-class’s stomach ruptured.
That is the only limit this thing has, the elasticity of the human stomach and the size of a human heart.
It’s not that the bodies are erased from existence, it’s that you cannot notice them.
I am honestly always amazed by the creativity of SCP writers.
ОтветитьSafe SCP, but an absolute banger of an article anyways.
