A new Zerbraxi video? What a great way to start the morning :)
ОтветитьWhile I have 0 nostalgia for N64 games nor like it's 3D rendering look, Turok seems fun to try someday, it looks like an interesting and somewhat unique game.
And how handhelds have turned around, as I'd probably play it on my Steam Deck, where I'm more tolerant rougher parts of a game.
This while finding near 0 enjoyment in Mario 64, aside from the OST, though the same applied to Odyssey and even Spyro for me.
The GameBoy soundtrack sounds like something which might be material for my general playlist, but otherwise I'm not that interested in the 8-bit difficulty.
It's greyscale also happens to be what my PC's monitor struggles with the most, scrolling parts flickered majorly on my end.
Thankfully I'm not photosensitive, heck, I play my music with ProjectM visualisations.
Btw congrats on the red blood, big boi
ОтветитьI AM TUROK
ОтветитьI remember a hard playthrough of Turok I on PC where I was so low on ammo at some point it turned into a stealth mission to get past enemies to find ammo. Fun times!
My favorite cheat code was LLTHCLRSFTHRNBW to unlock rainbow textures. Heck yeh 🌈
Zerbraxi your mum called. She said turn off the red blood or you're grounded.
Edit: sorry america. Mom
The only thing I remember about the first one, that I never beat any of the level without cheats. 😅
But I agree about the level-design, I think the series as a whole would had more staying power had they leaned more in the Metrovenia- or even Immersive-sim genre. Especially the second game seemed to move into this direction.
Alas, the promised day hath arrived.
ОтветитьGreat video on a game I don’t see covered much… always appreciate the effort and quality of your content man
ОтветитьReally cool video, never played Turok, but now I really want to .
ОтветитьFluid motion combat needs to make a return, Twisted Metal Black and 2012 feel soooo good and watching the strafing in turok just makes me salivate
ОтветитьBWIN
ОтветитьA summary of every Turok: Dinosaur Hunter's levels:
Level 1: Nice.
Level 2: Nice too.
Level 3: Cool!
Level 4: Oh damn! I get lost!
Level 5: Alright! That's it! I abhor labyrinths! 😠
Level 6: Abyss. Abyss everywhere. 💀
Level 7: Let's get serious. 😈
Level 8: Hardcore mode: on. 😎
I like how the Turok setting is completely asinine by design. I LOVE the Lost World type setting, and I’m sure that’s because I watched the Peter Jackson version of King Kong (favorite part is the one where they get swarmed by giant bugs) and the dumb Land of the Lost movie with Will Ferrell (that film is so bad it’s good😂). The idea of a place where there’s a mashup of different civilizations and organisms that do not mesh is really cool. It’s too bad that the studio went under and the prequel Turok Evolution was half baked. Let’s hope that Nightdive Studios can remaster it like they’ve done with the other three where they fix up various issues with the originals, while remaining mostly faithful. The 2008 reboot can be forgotten.
You’d think that we’d get a reboot that uses the best aspects from across the series to create the perfect Turok game since Boomer Shooters are popular again. If done right a Turok game that learns from past mistakes and uses some modernizations/fixes that were learned from newer games could revitalize the franchise.
Epic video! :D
ОтветитьCould you not use the original N64 game?
ОтветитьI wasn't allowed to play M rated games but I got turok as a part of an eBay lot and thought I could sneak it past dad. I got like 5 levels in before be caught me and made me smash my own cartridge with a hammer. So dramatic!
ОтветитьDude, the Gameboy tracks are 🔥
ОтветитьSame guy who did the music for the Game Boy "Lucky Luke" game! I inmediately noticed the similarities. If you're into this, check out Lucky Luke. Game's great, too.
