I didn't know my favorite lore voice did a video on kenshi!
ОтветитьPretty sure the old empire skeletons made the Shek to do police/defense/labor. Its even hinted at in dialog in game. Hivers were created too. I forget by whom, exactly. It's why Queens have a techwomb.
ОтветитьWhere the hell have you been all my life? This is so incredible good!
Ответить>super advanced society
>People only use melee and crossbows
Wow such good world building
Holy sh1t, fantastic explanation. I always thought the satellite weapons were used to wipe out the titans at Obedience. That was a good time!
ОтветитьI had no idea the lore was so far reaching. So many layers
ОтветитьThis was fantastic. Might be 1 of a kinda haven't seen any one attempt this well done I learned a ton
ОтветитьI know this video is a year old, but like you have a great narrating voice for this man. You kind of remind me of the narrator at the end of the older Fallout games, but instead it’s like talking about Kenshi here. Idk it’s really cool to me lol
Ответить🖤
ОтветитьTHANK YOU
ОтветитьDidnt the cannibals start because of the famine and starvation of the second empire not before it
ОтветитьNow I want to play a Skeleton who wants to redeem themselves and build a new settlement for humans to live.

ОтветитьChris Hunt is a genius.
Ответить"tin fist a hero, not the one we want but what we need, without a doubt a hero in dark times".
Ответитьspectacular work, thanks a lot
Ответить“The skeleton race”
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьI'm curious to see what additions there will be to the lore of Kenshi when Kenshi 2 releases. Being set back 1000 years prior to Kenshi we might learn more about the first and second empire.
ОтветитьMy nerd headcannon is the moon Kenshi exists within the StarSector universe and when the stargates stopped working and the Domain fell apart everybody forgot about the half-terraformed moon for thousands of years and was left to be decivilized. It would also somewhat tie-in with the first AI war that took place, possibly that Skeletons were a product of the first batch of humanoid AI workers, possibly as a test run for terraforming. During or after the first AI war, the Domain would attempt to destroy the Skeletons and Behemoths, before being beaten off of the moon, and subsequently forgetting about the moon in the vast sea of territory held by the Domain.
Being far away from the core worlds, with the collapse of the Domain, and how vast space truly is, no scavengers find the moon and rescue the survivors, nor is there any ships going around aside from maybe corrupted automated droneships meant to help terraform.
There are lots of holes in my headcannon, you’d have to imagine this takes place thousands of years after the fall of the Domain in order to justify the non-existence of guns or other technology, and the overall strangeness when comparing Kenshi’s depiction of AI to StarSector’s. StarSector’s AI is for the most part very cold, hyper-super efficient, able to truly think a million times a second, and engineer things nearly alien to our understanding of technology. They are truly horrifying not as some sort of death machine but simply in pure independent computing power and creativity. Kenshi’s AI is nearing human levels of thought, empathy, and emotions. They have personalities and goals beyond their programming, either caused by some breakthrough of science or years of being blasted by solar particles scrambling their code.
I must say, for a lore video, the background music has no business going this hard while your reading lore 😂😂😂
ОтветитьThe shek sound more like the Krogun from Mass Effect. Still a lesser evil from the other 2 major nations.
ОтветитьThank you for this condensed history and lore.
Ответитьi'm thinking the behemoths were made to combat giant crabs of the same size if i recall the thing that attacked the first empire came at them from the ocean
Ответить"Made it illigale to be poor" 😂
ОтветитьThe hivers remain almost a complete mistery.
It is impossible to assert if they were genetically engineered or if they are an invasive alien species or maybe brought by the first empire trade
The scrounging part reminds me of the book, "A Canticle for Leibowitz"
ОтветитьSo is this civilization on earth and ancient by our standards or is it the fuure? or is this just a different planet and time period doesn't really matter because there is no contact with earth?
ОтветитьKenshi 2 is a prequel right? i hope they show the original HN cult as not that extreme/racist, a non-mad Cat-Lon might be nice too. And of course more info/lore about the Hivers.
Thanks for this Documentary, u have a nice narrating voice.
I wonder if meitou grade weapons are engraved with "Cross" because Cross was actually an ancient arms manufacturing brand.
ОтветитьSkeleton had every right to massacre human. But they regretted their action. Props to them, it's not easy to forgive your enemy.
ОтветитьThank you for this, so much of the lore you see in game is hard to put together. It needs videos like this that string it together and make it cohesive
ОтветитьMAJOR SPOILERS!
I think that the theory that hivers where created/geneticly engineered by the second empire makes the most sense. The queens themselves are clearly cyborgs of some type, and even look pretty similar to one of the skeletons models in official concept art. Adding on to that the hivers have an (albiet rudimentary) industry for creating their own cybernetic limbs, whereas all other cybernetics in the game seem to be of explicitly skeleton origin. Also the south hive's "king" is a giant ape like "crimper" robot, which to me seems similar to the cleanser units that the second empire made.
This game would be so much more popular if they didn’t have the worst possible controls. Everything in the game is a fuckin chore, not because that’s how the game works, but because everything that should be simple and easy (movement, simply clicking objects, combat etc) isn’t.
ОтветитьYoure right random video i got reccomended at 3am. I should sink another 100 hours into kenshi!
ОтветитьOne thing I've always been curious about is the Crater and the Grid next to it, as well as the relationship the hivers have to skeletons
Ответитьgreat game, played it lots
ОтветитьIt was wheni visited the pit with giant robots i realized how incredible the lore must be
ОтветитьGreat vids
ОтветитьI like to think that the hivers were genetically engineered by the first empire to be a sort of alternative to skeletons-just as resistant to environmental effects and not very hungry but also extremely easy to control via a single queen, who, if you check in game, is completely artificial. I also like to imagine that the fish men are the invaders who the first empire created the behemoths to fight against. No real reason for that one other than the fact that I can’t come up with anyone else to take that role. We know next to nothing about the fish men anyways.
ОтветитьAll this sounds like Narko Propaganda
ОтветитьThe sea level should have raise higher cause in the desert montain around the Hub and Squin we can see sea urchin in the mountain, that means water was that high
Ответитьthe video is of perfect length to make a (almost) normal-looking human character, great stuff.
ОтветитьI think I left the Stobe on.
