There is still so much I dont understand about a market order. Theoretically, could someone (to use your ABC Example) set their sell price of ABC stock at something insane like $1000 and then you put in a market order expecting to spend anyhwere between 5-10 and end up having to buy it for the $1000?

Seriously u don't care about how much they sell it to u I don't get it what if they give me a rate much lower

In simple terms if the price u give in the orders are not available in the list of of limit orders displayed the sell or buy won't be executed makes it clearer or is it an auto buy or sell waiting for the market price to be exact as your limit order before buy or sell is executed which one?
