Did Uber Eats for about 5 months. It isn't worth the lousy pay. I never went into any homes like this lady was saying. The only rude ass I encountered was some guy snatching the bag from my hand because I was late. Traffic and construction is a thing my guy.
ОтветитьI drove for Uber full-time for about 9 months, and I did Uber eats/DoorDash for almost a year to finish up school, 2016 and 2017. I also picked it up this year for a few months when I moved to a new city just to get more acquainted with the city, Uber Eats and then a little bit of Uber. I am a female, I never had any of these issues that a lot of women have experienced. It could be the fact that I present as very tough and masculine exterior. Most of the issues I had was driving in a high crime neighborhood and passing a group of what looked to be gang members. That scared the daylights out of me, but other than that no issues.
ОтветитьThat’s how it is in Chicago it’s so hard to find somewhere to pee at night I legit have to find a 24 hour laundry mat
ОтветитьNot sure if this is a universal thing during the pandemic they were the Gods the ones who earn the most while peoplr were out of jobs
ОтветитьThis only happens in western Europe and America
Eastern Europe has actually a lot of respect for delivery workers
These masks make it impossible to take it seriously... Trash
ОтветитьI think the only one demoralizing you is yourself. I’m a driver, and I had a few of the problems that she explained. Such as the water one. There’s no way a fast food place will tell you to not use the bathroom if you walk straight in. Just take a damn water bottle like I do. Btw, some men crave the kind of attention that she says is harassment. Yes, even the demoralization.
ОтветитьDamn, I didn’t know London was this bad.
ОтветитьThe mask doesnt disguise the voice I'm confused 😂😂
ОтветитьHow do you even put this bs in the category of the series
ОтветитьThis cant be UberEats. If you have a gas guzzling car and gas prices rise it can severely cut your profit but you can choose to get paid instantly and customer service is great....has she heard of changing companies 👀
ОтветитьIve had maybe 15 jobs in my life. The easiest, hands down, by far is UberEats deliveries. I love to drive though, and I love working when I want, and sleeping when I want.I hate having a boss over my shoulder. I hate dealing with customers all day, a little interaction is nice though. The pay is better than many seem to think as well, if you are quick and put in heavy hours. That said, I am a 34 year old male. I've done almost 2000 deliveries and had maybe 2 or 3 rude customers, and it was mildly rude comments/texts like "are you coming??" because I was finding parking in Vancouver rush hour, for 1 or 2 minutes heaven forbid. Clearly a different experience for women in UK.
Ответитьomg, why are people like this ?? i guarantee she doesn’t get paid enough to deal with that.
ОтветитьYep, I picked up something from a cafe late at night, and someone outside was eyeing me hard and it scared me i got a really awful vibe from it, he followed me back to my car but i got inside faster and locked the door and his face was right at my window. I dropped off that order, but I was running in and out of the building in fear. I never did it again.
ОтветитьI did it , and although it can be crazy im glad nothing traumatic happened .
ОтветитьTurn on tne lights, turn off the spooky music & get rid of the Freddie Kruger mask. Then get a comfy chair where she can sit with her back to the camera & tell her scary stories in comfort with a cup of tea and a biscuit then maybe I might believe......nah... it's all a pile of shite to spook you out. Spoil your pizza too. Lol...
ОтветитьIt really depends where you’re delivering the food. Delivering in LA is a completely different story than Hawaii or high end cities
ОтветитьDelivered for two years after dropping out of college to save up and finish my education. Pre doordash/uber eats days, worked for a Chinese family owned restaurant. I had seen and experienced more of the world in that two years than I did in my 23 years of life prior. Stoners to meth cookers to drug dealers. Once I left food at the door in a rural middle of nowhere house, called them multiple times prior, no one picked up. Before I could even walk away from the driveway, the food disappeared.
Worked in a small Indiana college town, and people were often racists. Multiple times the customers had cash on their hands when I arrived, that they didn't give when they saw a brown man bringing their food, on cold days, rainy days, even on black Friday, this alone sucked the life out of me. Came seconds from almost a certain death collision twice. But, the scariest experience was when my BossLady™ without even thinking much, sent me to a trailer park home at 11:30 PM on a cold night. The customer opened the door and asked me to come inside and wait as he went back. There were drugs and knives on a table, I stayed back but surely thought that's it, I am dying, he is going to shoot my ass and take all my money. He came back with the money for the food, gave me a half decent tip. Being a delivery driver has changed my perspective on life forever.
Ive never had any problems delivering food probably cuz im a dude idk its disgusting to me that someone would do that to someone though
ОтветитьAll of these criticisms are cancelled out by the fact that these companies have pride stripes on their branding.
Go corporate Liberalism 😊😊😊😊
Wait, the restaurants where you're picking up food from, to generate their revenue, don't let you freely use the toilet? F*ck them.
ОтветитьI wish she would complaining scaring other wannabes
ОтветитьCurrently thousands news US immigrants pleading to feds for work permit to do this job.
ОтветитьBig realest to delivery drivers. But there are definitely worst jobs. The guy making sexual comments at KFC can get shat on, but the rest of them are often treated worse than the drivers. I work at KFC and drivers are the rudest people we get in, swearing at us, telling us we’re not fast enough (despite definitely meeting our minimum times) and even opening orders to check the food for some god forsaken reason. Which means we have to then take it off them and repackage it.
ОтветитьI’m sorry, this was kind of a ridiculous interview 😅
ОтветитьSome of those stuffs may not be proper.
ОтветитьAnybody else not really convinced on this one? Seems like normal stress that comes with most jobs.
ОтветитьI delivered pizza when I was 18, and it was really fun for me. Sure, I ran into some weirdos and had some close calls, but all in all. It was awesome 😊
Ответитьlmfao
ОтветитьSounds like a bunch of over sensitive women
ОтветитьA full documentary could be made for that mask alone. That mask house the mankind's collapse.
ОтветитьI used to work at chain restaurant in London and we would always let deliveroo or Ubereats use our toilets it just seemed normal to us
Even though sometimes we wished they repected a bit more the toilets because some of them left them really disgusting and we had to wash them after they went to the toilets that was before COVID
even in my country, which is quite poor, you won't see native people working in food delivery. All of them are foreigners (they look like young adult, arab/indian/pakistani man). My guess is that they're students here or foreign workers making extra money after work or in the weekeds. 90% of food delivery people in my country work this job without a contract and I don't know how many had their salaries delayed or didn't get a salary at all after one week.
ОтветитьFalse allegations against natives
ОтветитьI’ve worked for deliveroo Uber eats and just eat for a year and a half but never experienced this had a few slightly rude restaurant workers and customers but 90% of the time it’s ok not sure why it’s been so bad for this person
ОтветитьLadies please start legally carrying and learn how to properly use it. A taser and pepper spray you should carry as well..
ОтветитьThe fast food employees making 9 an hour are doing hard labor too. Because people kept ordering during the pandemic the government made fast food workers 'essential' WITHOUT a pay increase. So ALL the people ordering from home were part of the problem.
There was one time. It was only me and my manager Tasha at the restaurant. It was during Christmas. Yes we're open on Christmas during covid. It was so so so busy! It was literal nonstop work for only 2 people. So to have the drive-thru Non-Stop... And then also all the online ordering Non-Stop!! Completely demoralizing. All for only 9.50 an hour.
It was harder than warehouse work. Because you had to work fast like in a warehouse AND talk to customers unlike in a warehouse where you talk to co workers and managers.
Everyone can always get in to trouble whoever you are doesnt matter also it doesnt matter where you are so what is this about vice
ОтветитьWomen should not be working in this field in first place
ОтветитьBruh why does that mask looks like a dick head? 😂
ОтветитьShe is right. Worked for Door Dashers here in US. Many men want more than their food. U have to explain to the company when u get a order that is miles away u must tell them the miles there and back right after you are done. If u dont u wont get the money for the miles. Glad i got a reg job before covid hit. Good to make money during covid but there were so many Dashers they would fight for each job.
ОтветитьAs a former pizza delivery driver I have been called names like sexy and hunk. I’ve had milfs take me in their homes to “pay” for their pizzas. I’ve been robbed and shot at multiple times and even been murdered twice.
No that’s all a joke. But I was offered some drugs by a stoner couple once….
I deliver for probably the largest pizza chain and they pay the bare minimum wage, when fuel prices doubled they continued to give us a forty cents gas allowance, during covid they raised their delivery charge to $4.99 and drivers don't get one penny of that, did I mention I also deliver in the worst neighborhood, you can't even call it a neighborhood it's downtown inner-city ghetto and somehow I've managed to not be robbed for 6 years now. The only reason I stay is because they let me have time off to tour with my band, not many places will allow employees to miss three months out of the year.
ОтветитьThis series is always so overexaggerated, Vice should do better. I used to believe your crap until i watched the yatch episode. that was when I knew all this is fake, cos I'm in the maritime industry.
How can you tell me this come on Vice, cut the BS.
Thank you for highlighting what it is like for women working, harassment never ends, landlords blackmailing for sex in a housing crisis.......lowlifes
ОтветитьThere's must be a dark side to getting gas to
ОтветитьLmfao
Ответитьinhumanity and greed will kill us all in the end. top of the food chain my ass!
ОтветитьI think it should be illegal to NOT let the delivery folk use the damn bathroom! If they aren't gonna think about the people delivering the food, just think of the people receiving the food and how unsanitary it could be (especially if some lady was forced to have to change her tampon outside). If 👏🏽 they👏🏽 are👏🏽 handling 👏🏽food, allow them access to bathrooms so they can wash their fucking hands.
