If someone wants you to add them, just don’t give them the card. They have no way of accessing your account without that card.

You’re not supposed to give the authorized user a card the card is supposed to be torn up. The authorized user is not to use that card at all not to use that credit at all the car goes to the account holder‘s address. I don’t think you understand how the authorize user is supposed to work. The way you’re talking about it is When you’re adding your wife or daughter.

Well I asked my older brother if he could help me by adding me as an AU, told him to not give me a card so he has literally zero risk, but I still got rejected by him. Here’s a tip Tip: buy trade lines instead from a stranger because Family does not like to help you unless they are benefiting from it.

Assuming the primary cardholder has two different cards with two different banks. Let’s say Both banks report the additional user to the credit bureaus. Let’s say both cards are in perfect payment standing, never missed a payment or been late. One card is 6 months old at $5k limit and the other is 3 years old at $500 limit. Both cards are at zero balance. Is there a benefit to the authorized uses of adding the smaller limit, older card ? Or the higher limit, newer card ?

But If you really want to help someone you can add that person to your car lease agreement, at the end of the day you are paying for your car and you don't have to worry about missing payments like when you add someone to your credit card line, and its look way better in your credit report when you are able to complete that lease agreement.

I think I'll avoid this one, just too risky for me personally. It's nice to see moral responsibility from someone in this field though, finance isn't somewhere you usually find it.

Adding an authorized user is min risk. The primary card holder has full control. I have added several family members and i just never give them my cards.

when cosigning a loan for someone. does the same perks apply? let's say if the student is applying for a loan to go to school. will that students credit score go up if they have a cosigner with a high credit score? also will the cosigner credit score also go up if the student pays the loan responsibly?

Obviously only have someone who you can trust!! I have my partner on mine. You can see every purchase made so it is not that big of a deal.
