question: instead of using the flux core solder, is it safe to use a paper clip or any metallic strings? I'm trying to replace a battery clock coin for my Gamecube and I never soldering before.

How do you change the tips? My original tip is so tight and I don't want to damage my iron.

Everybody, do not use this method! Do not heat the solder with the iron. Heat the wire with the iron and touch the solder to the wire.
