Is there a way to create a desktop “folder” that would simply containerize a group of normal sized icons on the desktop? The container would simply be an opaque outline/background (kind of like the widget containers) that would give a quick visual picture of which icons are in this group, instead of the current folder that is just the same size as an individual icon box and you don’t actually see what’s in there.

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I just purchased a second hand Ipad mini 4 Ipad OS V15.7.3
So I think you covered everything except the thing I want?
I downloaded an app and noticed it put it on my Home Screen, but also put it in my Dock.
So I downloaded another app, which it did to my Home Screen.
But I can either have it there, or on my Dock but not both???
Tried loads of times but it isn't having any of it???
Also, there is one on my home screen that has a few apps in it which opens up when I click on it, but i can't delete it as I want to customize my Dock to have the apps on it I want.
H E L P ! ! ! LOL

I wish that the side widgets from iPadOS 14 can be pinned back again rather than having some widgets on my home screen because the apps take much space... iPadOS 14 was much better though because it has much more room compared to 15... I hope Apple brings back that feature again or otherwise I'll just downgrade my iPad 😔

Homescreen grid and app spacing on iPadOS 15 is unarguably ugly. If I had a chance to toss of all widgets but get back the layout from iPadOS 14 I would go for it. Staying on iPadOS 14 just for this reason.

I got an iPad M1 pro on the weekend any content on iOS is really useful at the moment. Glad to see any content particularly on ways to increase productivity and how to get the most out of iOS

Can someone help me huhu. I updated my ipad to ipados 15. And the details at the top like time and date on the upper right of the ipad and wifi icon and battery on the upper left is missing. I can only see them whe im on an app. Is there a way of keepinh them on my home screen thank you

Ok I really hate the fact that the apps change positions between portrait and landscape. I would honestly rather not have Home Screen widgets if this is the compromise.
