What you said about Amazon does not allow reviews against the seller is absolutely FALSE!!! I have left plenty of NEGATIVE reviews on a product and also mentioned the NEGATIVES AGAINST THE SELLER in the same review! They were all screened by Amazon and posted on line under verified buyer!!!!

A few years ago, I ordered a mini refrigerator and then looked it up and saw that it was a scam. I requested a refund from my bank and got it immediately. A bunch of people ordered it and it wasn’t that much cheaper, so it was not obvious. First time I ordered anything and now I know. A good lesson.

These scams can be more elaborate. I think it was FB marketplace I got scammed on. I was smart enough to use PayPal to get my money back though. The seller “sold” a dumber set for about $50. Very cheep. Took a month for shipping form China with a working tracking number that finally said “delivered.” This is part of the scam. What was delivered was a fifty cent baby thermometer. This was done so they could tell the market place that they could “prove” their item was sniped and delivered. I took screenshots of all messages to them and the package and item. PayPal refunded me in a day or 2 or less with no problems.

Can everyone stop blaming China, ye it's obviously fake, but they most likely sent it, but as soon as a package leaves China the rest of the world's shipping process is absolutely useless when dealing with things from China or going to China, I've lived in China a long time, delivery within China 99% is fast and efficient, sending out or in is pointless

Amazon seems to have poor control on their vendors. I have received thumb drives that claimed 1 Tb and only hold 100 Gb, but Amazon refunded no questions asked. Other strange things over the years were a PC that was listed, sold to me, then order cancelled (because it was too cheap I suppose), hadn't paid yet so I was safe. Just ordered a portable printer "with battery" (as ad stated), it arrives, new in box, but no battery. But, the price was more-or-less appropriate for this model including the battery. As always, Amazon takes it back with free return shipping and refunds money. I've never lost any money with Amazon, but it's the hassle and the feeling that some good faith is lost in there somewhere.

in addition to a lot of these comments once the shipping label is created it starts your 30 day return policy. shipping from china generally takes about that so by the time you even receive your item and its the wrong thing, damaged, or not sent at all its by then to late to claim a refund due to the 30 day period.

I bought a PU leather jacket from a company that is in China. A shipping label was created but there was no movement for at least a week. Then it got on a plane and shipped to USA. It went through customs and then to a local shipping company. I finally got it and it’s perfect and I love it but the whole time I thought it was a scam.

I don't recommend buying or selling on Amazon. Amazon is not safe and there are hackers who will steal your credit cards and personal information from you. eBay is much safer as they accept Paypal. Amazon does not.

Actually it's really not the third parties fault in this matter or with other scams. IT'S AMAZON'S FAULT. The assholes of Amazon don't care about the consumer, they only care about the commissions they earn on these scam products. Their quality standards have basically fallen by the wayside. Amazon does not oversee quality nor the customer services provided by a third party vendor. ESPECIALLY CHEAP CRAP FROM CHINA. STOP BUYING ITEMS ON AMAZON. If it's too good to be true, then it is a scam. Moreover, the prices on Amazon are no longer discount prices. Everyone is purchasing items based on instant gravitation and convenience. Moreover, Amazon Prime is a scam.

They will normally ship you some crap that is nothing like what you ordered. To qualify for a refund you then have to return the item International Signed For, the cost of which outstrips the value of the refund. Or they will offer you $5 partial refund on a $50 item. As you say, if it looks too good to be true, then it is. Or, there ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

Amazon was awesome for a bit, but then the average user got on there and it became THE target of scamming due to it being so popular. Everyone said MacOS was more secure because it was "virus free" for so long but the reality was just everyone was targeting Microsoft's much more popular platform until it become large enough to attract hackers. The trick to everything is to get in early, enjoy it while you can, and then find the next new platform to get into early as the one you're on becomes a victim of its own success.

I bought an item last year that was advertised for $40. They added $10 in shipping. This was for a product that probably should have retailed for $250 in the USA. After several days and no update I contacted the seller. They made an excuse and apologized for the delay. Finally I received a tracking number and shipping notification. Some time later my "package" arrived and it was a tiny paper packet. They had sent me a $45 roll of USA stamps. I bet they were counterfeit and I did not even try them. Thankfully my bank refunded the entire $50 within a week or so. The bogus company was probably not going to send anything at all if they did not hear from me. Once they did hear for me they sent a fake item which would have had a comparable value in hopes that I didn't complain that I didn't receive the item or equal value. Whatever...... LOL I learned a good lesson that day on the too good to be true deals.

Hey Ben, basically you're right about them hoping some people forget about the refund option, but more importantly: since u have to adhere to THEIR third party refund policy, they can request whatever information they want to issue you the refund. And from there they can either sell ur info, keep it, and do whatever they want
