Adding acoustic instruments to electronic music has always bugged the shit out of me quickly becoming an overworked cliche. This performance is a stunning collection of so many different things. There are these moments were everyone is in sync that I won't cheaply call magical. Love it!

Went to a recent gig of Jeff Mills. In Valencia Spain. It was so boring and regressive. The same 1990s hard quantized drill was going on for 2 hours.
This techno-futurist bullshit is finished actually. It was cool in the late 1990s.

This is art in it's most sacred form. This is so advanced and well done that I don't think many of us really know what's going on, me included.

This will take decades to decode. This will not be fully appreciated for a long long time, I guarantee. On a scale of 1-10 musically, 1 being absolute horse--- and 10 being the the best on the planet personally - I'd say I'm a 6, maybe 6.5. So I'm above average, which I'd say is probably 3 or 4. To appreciate this fully - you have to be atleast a 9, and only then will you look at this and go "I'd only known that was doable in theory."

There are things going on here that I can just about grasp, but don't truly understand. That's why, on the surface - this seems shit at times. And don't be scared to admit that, it does. But it's not because it's bad from their skill level, it's bad because we don't have the skill, or knowledge to perceive it .Like I said, I know more than most, and there are many who know more than me. But there are things that are going on here musically that are so advanced they'd make Herbie Hancock blush. And we'd look at him in confusion, saying "Why the red face?" and he'd say, "Brother, it'd take me a week to explain what just happened there."

It'd take 2 years atleast, of musical studying to maybe even scratch the surface of what's going on here.

I'm dumbfounded.
