They said it was designed to look like the outstretched palm of Tunku Abdul Rahman. However for me, it looks like the old 90's brick mobile phone complete with the antennae. A perfect symbolism of a bygone era.

I'm going to KL next month, I can't wait to see this amazing building! Hopefully the observation deck is open for the public.

Malaysians are very short just 5 feet 6 and we need 6 feet men to satisfy women...shame on you Malaysia, you guys despite being afro TROPICAL like, still can't get like them!! Do you want your women to be banged hard by higher latitudes?? No right!? Then for god's sake stop playing and just get to higher latitudes and thrive there...make your everything bigger, try hard and come back....just as in the early universe, hot nutrons when became colder, arranged itself nicely... you guys need to become that arrangement...you guys have energy..you just need to go colder and thrive there....the rest is the future in TROPICs!

They had completed Merdeka PNB anyway.. so.. yeah.. ATM.. there probably won't be any new construction anytime soon.. Ig the Jeddah Tower will be a long run in this game...

Even as we speak there is a tower in design stage called tower M. I think about 700m tall. Crazy. But it sealed KL's position as the new york of south east asia hands down

I used to live near this building site and used to pass by it everyday by walk, now its feels like a kid has grown infront of my eyes to adulthood. I got pictures of it from my apartment when they had just started to dig a hole for building's foundation. I bet the views from it will be beautiful, with kuala lumpur and mountains in sight

Interesting video. As an architect, I find it amusing that developers and government officials use nationalistic symbolism to get public acceptance.
These mega projects all seem to need a gimmick (commonly dubbed "inspired by") such as lotus flower or traditional fabrics, and I'm kind of glad the west has not dived deep into that slag heap as the Middle East and East Asia have.
Gimmicky design is always a joke.

megatall scysrapers is morally old none should be build after. I have designed a complex structure of 10's of buildings. with both vertical and horizontal fast elevators who moves fast trough x floors and y zones for any servise a habitant would need without leaving the buildings. They are above ground but have their own parks and skygrounds also, concert halls and so on. Being outside would not be necessary as the new outside v2 with incoming virtual reality technologies will increase the competition to the real being outside, which also the habbitant of the building city consider to be even dangerous.

Total waste of money and energy. With the price of one idiotic tower, could ne made several really high quality arcitectual buildings.
