My younger sister is hard of hearing and stays at a deaf university campus dorm room. I was spending the night after a fight with my folks and super stressed out. i went ahead and bought another sonic alert clock and a tin bowl. I really like this method. the sonic bomb I don't like because when you need to reset it, you have to scroll all the way around 24 hours, with the sonic alert it is not as loud but it is faster to reset. I tried using the vibrating pod under my mattress I don't feel it. Then I tried under my pillows, but I stack my pillows and I am such as heavy sleeper, if I am not getting a full night sleep (which is often during the week, I will sleep right through). with the vibrating pod in the tin bowl, I do hear it. Thanks.

I still sleep through this thing on occasion, and I'm not really even kind of deaf. I had mine sitting on a hard floor, but a metal bowl might be my answer.

I've just ordered one. After a life time of being late for work losing jobs and falling out with employers that otherwise I got on pretty well with this might finally resolve the issue.

Not gonna lie, I had this alarm in high school and I would easily sleep through it. Woke up the rest of the damn neighborhood though.

yup, with this sound... still can't wake up... I have problem to wake up... usually I wake up only when someone wakes me up...

Um, if the person is deaf, it doesn't matter how loud it is.
It needs to be able to shake the bed enough to wake them up, no?

Most deaf people are hard sleepers, well, at least my son is.
I'm looking for something that will wake him up, not make alot of noise :-)
