First day with the MIDAS LEGEND 3000

I have the sam Midas, and the same Aux issue on 2 channels, a 3rd the LEDS are always on and it doesn't respond. Let me know how you get on with the Automation. I need to learn it.

I learned on the Heritage 3000, Legend 3000, and the Venice at church. I see Venice and Hertiage consoles for sale all the time but I never see Legends. Felt good to see this. I had no idea how to mix back then, but Midas made it super easy for my amateur 16-year-old self.

We eventually had to ditch all the Midas consoles due to our productions growing in a way where we exceeded the two Hertiage consoles we had at FOH. We actually got Midas to make us a custom 52-channel desk to slave to our 48-channel so that we could get 112 channels (i know the math doesnt add up, but we could change some of the auxes to be inputs)...and at Christmas, we would use every single one. Now I've been mixing that same Christmas show on a dLive for several years and have almost maxed out the dLive, using about 120 channels. Haha

The Legend was what we had in our youth building. We had to get rid of it because nobody had the time or knowledge to maintain it and we were losing functional channels like crazy. We still have all four of our Midas consoles in storage, where they will probably remain forever, considering nobody wants to buy a giant analog desk anymore.

It's gonna be tough to mix on the floor? Got a 24 track deck to go with it?

I own one of these. There are 2 different manuals for this desk. The automation setup is different depending which desk you have.

Bought one two years ago still cant figure out how to run an external effect rack through this board and be able to assign the effects across the individual channels. If you can please assist. Thanks

The issue with the talkback, is not an issue, it's totallty normal, if you take a look at the Talk Module Block Diagram in the operator's manual, the signal presence light only lights up with the rear TB input and that gain control only affects the rear input too, it doesn't affect the front input at all, the green pot is the only way to control the level of the front TB input, also while pressing the "ON" button it dims all the monitors outs by 20dB... So nothing wrong here, I admit that it is not so intuitive but these consoles are a little complex and you discover some surprising stuff by reading the manual... (even tho' it's a pain in the a**)😉😉

Im using a SoundCraft LX7ii with full Parametric EQs on every channel....Really Rounded full Sound...but still pretty clean....only paid $400 like new condition...seems like a cool console...cant see how this is any better than what I aready have ....but Im happy for you...if your happy with the Midas...

ive mixed on a legend 3000 when i started my job as sound and lighting tech at my local holiday park superb analogue desk but i agree i got a little lost finding my way round the desk as was used to mixing on Allen and heath gl and ml series desks

That would be absolutely perfect for when I want to record my singing and a guitar but with separate mics.

I had one of these in my home studio up until she was replaced with an XL4 Broadcast model with flying faders. Getting the Automation to work in Protools has been an extremely eye gouging journey. It will receive scenes but no real time flying faders other than scene recalls. I'm told its possible to ge the real time flying going but I've yet to be successful in getting this going. The only reason I went with a XL4 was the Mic-pres and the Nostelgia of it being the very first "BigBoy Console i was ever let loose on in 95. The the overall sound just shits on just about anything else - short of an $50k+ Neve or SSL of the same era IMO.. I'm currently half way through recapping but all and all REALLY happy with the XL4 and so happy 25years into my career I finally own one, and one I don't ever have to move, no less!
