do you have a link to that external mic?
ОтветитьThanks for the video. Helps a lot. I would like to modify this approach using the Zoom F3 and the line out connected to a Wireless GO II transmitter. Any suggestions?
ОтветитьExcellent info. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Ответитьanyone here know if there’s a audio workflow (i.e. order of operations) for fairlight? or audio in general?
for example, like resolve's "image processing order of operations" for color?

Thank you for your presentation. I would appreciate your feedback. I want to connect my GH-6 camera to an event sound board via an xlr (stereo) to my camera 3.5mm trs cable. would that work? Thank you for your response.
ОтветитьIs there something about syncing frames (like 4 frames) because the travel of the audio signal gets the sound very slightly behind the video (even connected)? (or is that something else?)
Ответитьits just about audio converter quality
ОтветитьReally really helpful video. Found this while looking for some alternatives to the XLR top handle for the fx30. Never thought about the additional compression with recording baked in audio. Thanks!
ОтветитьHey I have a question about Zoom! I’m trying to create a professional but simple videoconferencing setup. My thought is an A6700 with 4K USB streaming with a H5 interface connecting to a MKE 600. So then everything just comes out of camera, no need for a USB audio interface, making it easy to move the setup as needed. I’m worried about the compression effects you mentioned at the end, will USB streaming from camera still compress to AAC?
ОтветитьGreat video! thank you I have a request, will you recommend the Zoom MSH-6 capsule for spoken words? or if you want to do a short video explaining? Thank you in advance.
Ответитьwhat about an XLR female to 3.5 male directly from boom to the camera, using NTG4+ cuz it has self phantom power.. would it be similar quality as the zoom method u showed?
all the zoom is doing is giving phantom power right? the rode NTG4 + has a -10 db button option so I'm guessing is not optimal but it might work.?
asking cuz I have to cover a small event with 3 handheld cameras and I'm already using a dedicated on camera mic on 2 of them but buying a new one just for this job is not worth it.
or am I better off recording audio directly from the GH5, without anything attached?
Thanks a lot
Hi, great video! I'm working on this very thing right now. I'm a musician looking to make my own promo videos DIY style, and I just bought a Lumix G95 camera. I'm pairing that with the beastly Zoom H8 recorder which can record in multitrack with 6 XLR/1/4inch inputs.Very good info there about the baked in audio, and potential multiple layers of compression... thanks!
ОтветитьBravo! Great video
ОтветитьThe problem I’m having now is that the sound is passing through, but there’s a lot of noise. I mean a lot! It’s unusable audio. How do I fix?
ОтветитьI match the meters with a 1khz tone from the H5. Also send the signal to the Camara But a nice beep tone from the H5 when it starts
recording makes sync a breeze and use the high quality audio from the H5. Great video!
I have a job in five days. I hope you see this. Would this video be applicable to a ZH1 and a Sony A7III???
ОтветитьYou guys are all smarter than I am for sure HELP
ОтветитьNot to be a wise ass but I’m wondering if you can say all that in English I have no technical knowledge so really looking for it to be said in more understanding terms my apologies but I like the idea of what your doing just don’t know how .
Ответить@Audio for Content Creators So does the H5 have phantom power? Also, if I am understanding you correctly, I want to use a Rode NTG4 shotgun mic for streaming, and after watching this it seems as if my audience won't hear any difference between the Rode and a $30 lav mic from Amazon? BTW I am on a gaming laptop and I could hear a huge difference between your audio A&B tests. The baked-in audio actually had more bass, but it sounded almost clipping and the highs were not as defined.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this excellent video. How i can create a similar set up with out using an xlr cable and by using my rode wireless go 2 wireless microphone? Thanks
ОтветитьGreat video...Thank you! Will this work for the following? I am trying to connect a Shure SCM-268 mixer to a Panasonic HC-V785K Camcorders’ Mic input jack. I don’t think an XLR to 3.5mm cable is a legit way to go but I would certainly appreciate your thoughts.
ОтветитьSo what XLR mic can I use to just go XLR to 3.5mm TRS directly without any recorder or power supply?
ОтветитьIs it possible to connect a H6 to a camera for video or even a phone and live stream? Thanks
ОтветитьVery well put together video, thanks for all the information. You made it easy to understand and gave me a better vision of what I need to do as a content creator.
Ответитьdoes this work with the h1/h1n zoom?
ОтветитьHow would you accomplish this wirelessly? :)
ОтветитьIs that a Gibson 1959 LP Cherry Sunburst?
Ответитьabsolute genius workflow. superb!
Ответитьthank you :)
ОтветитьI like the Baked in compressed audio better, 😂😂😂
ОтветитьWith this method can you use more than one mic at a time?
ОтветитьThis isn't your day job? It is my day job and I still learned some great things from this video. Cheers!
ОтветитьVery very good explained, thanks
ОтветитьThank you so much!
ОтветитьQuestion. I got the Rode NTG5 and I have the Saramonic LC-XLR to lighting microphone adapter cable. If I was to get the H5 would I be able to connect the LC-XLR to the H5 right to my iPhone? Thank you in advance.
ОтветитьHello, in case you answer this, I’d be glad. Can I record from a shotgun mic to a digital recorder.
ОтветитьTHIS IS ABSOLUTE BEST TUTORIAL ON THIS SUBJECT ON YOU TUBE, PERIOD. Many thanks!
Ответитьhello, do you know if i can put a tentacle sync system on my Zoom H8?
ОтветитьIf you loose quality by 3 compressions with the baked in sound, why not taking syncing all the time the sound of the camera with the H5 sound, in premiere pro it is a one min process???
ОтветитьGreat video... some people just have the gift to make short easy understanding videos, you are one of them. Thanks
ОтветитьYo, this video really helped me understand a lot of things I was ignoring as a documentary filmmaker for years!! Really appreciate the amount of value in this under 10 minute video!
ОтветитьGreat job
ОтветитьThank you for your work! best video!
Ответитьvery good video. thanks. now I feel like I should use non syncing
ОтветитьCan I do this with JUST a mini xlr cable? My 3.5mm input doesn't work on my Mark iii 5D, and I want to be able to use a mic boom set up out in the field.
ОтветитьGreat video thanks
ОтветитьCan I skip the recorder and plug the XLR mic to my camera using an adapter?
ОтветитьGood information..Would you please explain how to sync audio from the recorder to the audio from the camera when you have two seperate recordings - my recorder was connected to a PA system and the camera was too far away.. I have to sync them in FCPx & they always go out of sync...
Ответитьfor some reason everything works but its only playing back in the left ear , i have the zoom h6 connecting with sony zv e 10 using xlr mic any tips
Ответить
