I don't know if I'm the only one but I don't give a fuck if he cheated or not. He's still undoubtedly one of the top 10 players IN THE WORLD and a wonderful, kind, and overall wonderful person, and that's all that matters to me. I watch riolu for his ability to play amazingly as well as his ability to be such a genuinely kind person. The people that don't consider this man's livelihood and mental well-being when jumping on this childish bandwagon of honestly disgusting disrespect make me so genuinely sad and hurt. It's such a shame that the trackmania community can resort to such things. Here's hoping that this will all blow over soon and we can move past this stupid fiasco like actual adults.

Sad thing Riolu couldn't overcome the cheating scandal. It would be a rough period but the community would accept him (and the others) in the end. The dynamic of Spam, Massa, Riolu, Carl, Pac and the rest of the bunch was always fun to watch. Especially the fun tourny's where they just goof around in early matches while still beating everyone. A show of skill and experience. Luckily we still have clips

Man I will never understand Riolu. He was so universally beloved before his downfall. By simply owning up to his (grievous, don't read this as downplaying just how shitty what he did is) mistakes, I'm pretty sure he could easily have maintained an online presence and income.

But instead he doubled down and showed just how bad he as a person really was, when he chose to do one last cash grab stream before dipping. He ripped off his loyal community while lying in their faces.

And yet I also do miss his content. It was what really got me into following the Trackmania scene and I watched a lot of it while in a rather dark place. Seeing him persevere through his difficult last TMGL season was a genuine motivation for me to keep going.

i remember my first rioulu, it grew so fast into a real champion, but then he became a cheetah for being too stronk, i couldnt believe it and let him free, no one saw him ever again

I saw Riolu at a grocery store in Dortmund way before this all happened. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

It was quite obvious that this comment section would become a shitshow, but the amount of people defending arguably the biggest cheater in gaming history is absolutely nuts. This comment will be Chatting vibes, but have the people saying "oh he made such good content, I just miss it" forgotten his last stream where he lied to everyone, did a quick final cash grab, and never had the guts to say sorry (even now, a year later) to anyone? Sounds like some insane cognitive bias to me.

I miss Riolu. I agree he didn't made the best decisions in his TM career. But I would start watching him again in a heartbeat.
However I don't blame him for disappearing. There will always be idiots that wouldn't stop to harass him because being assholes gives their brain a dopamine shot. Fuck those guys.
