Debbie was pretty old in pop terms when Blondie hit which was a blessing because a younger woman would've had a hard time handling that level of fame. To say she and Blondie were big is a serious understatement. They were as big as big got!

The only thing wrong with this song is that it's too SHORT. The instrumental section in the middle could go on longer. The beginning could have TWO rings. It could easily have been FOUR minutes, and not lose any energy. Think of Rapture. They did end it right, though, not fading it out, which would not have been good at all.

Any conversation about greatest covers ever that doesn't include this record isn't worth having. Blondie was the stereotypical great band that became lame almost the instant they hit it big. This was before they drove off a cliff.

Just imagine being that fucking good! We can only ever imagine, no band tops blondie, and we all know, no soul tops Debbie Harry.

The 80 were definitely totally a Blast Man !!
