constructive criticism..get a narrator ,worth the money. a great read is edge of collapse....very well written and she researched to interview a narrator. your conflicts are so pushy and feel forced into every minute.we dont really get to know the characters , no depth, and all they do is have battles. I felt humanity deescalated way to fast. Just my thoughts, I listen to books everyday at work.
ОтветитьThis book reads (listens) like it’s a passionate project of an innocent jr high school student’s first short story attempt. Are the main characters deliriously happy/toxic positivity mormons? Nobody acts/talks like that, and why do they ask and explain the most obvious things as if the people they’re talking with are special needs? The character development is almost nonexistent and, again, the narration seems like the writer let her 15 year old niece, innocent of any narration experience, read the story instead of investing in an experienced voice actor/narrator. I will say that the basic storyline is solid and attractive and it has the opportunity to be a 10 book series rivaling even that of the Going Home series, but, sadly, between the adult characters talking and acting like they are kids in adult bodies as if they have mental stuck needles, the stiff, flat, first time feel of the narration and the never ending explanations, comments and questions highlighting the obvious, it was painful just trying to make it to the second chapter. Although, I probably would’ve loved everything about this in my early teens. Dear, author…don’t be discouraged at the above criticism. You do have talent. If your target audience is for those with skyrocketing hormones and pimples, mormons, or anyone recently liberated after years with strict cult then you’ve made it! Congrats!! If, however, your stories are meant for a more mature audience, your craft just needs to be developed. Great start, best wishes in your future endeavors!
ОтветитьPeople wouldn’t act like that on the first day of an EMP but what do I know
ОтветитьWhy do they give these robotic narrations human names? Does anyone actually believe a human is narrating this? It’s such a grating sound.
ОтветитьThese idiots dont know each others voice? smh wtf
ОтветитьI like the story, but the characters needs to understand if it’s an apocalyptic situation and you’re seeing people get shot and murdered in front of you on your way to your destination especially trying to get a hold to your kids. You have to have that type of mindset that you’ll do anything to make it to your family and loved ones, so please, for the next story give these people some balls, this moral compass about worrying about how somebody’s gonna look at you for taking a life in the process of saving a life
ОтветитьGreat book. I enjoyed it much more than other EMP stories Ive heard. so many have a hyper focus on rape and sex trafficking with explicit details. Attention must be made to this aspect but without detailed page after page
ОтветитьI hate the narrators voice
ОтветитьPrepare for an amazing review Christine Kersey...only on 12
ОтветитьHow in god's name can you create a character, Tamara, and completely mispronounce the name???
It is pronounced TAM-ARE-A, and always has been.
Sloppy.
Stupid writer, had to quit when I heard that mom doesn't know what dad and son even sound like
Ответить33000
ОтветитьNot bad so far. Try "one second after" 3 books free on yt
ОтветитьLike the story but the narrator sounds like robot no emotion
ОтветитьNot buying the part where she hears her husband and son but isn't sure. Completely unrealistic. I would recognize my wife and son's voices instantly. Just felt like author wanted to drag the reunion out.
ОтветитьTo many commercials
ОтветитьSure enjoyed the first book. Looking forward to the second. Thanks so much for posting.
ОтветитьI like the book but evolved to killing and chaos way too quick it would in reality take 2 to 3 days to get to where it is within a few hours in this story.
Ответить3.11 - HUSBAND AND WIFE DON'T KNOW EACHOTHERS VOICE?
ОтветитьWeird weird, the narrator hurts my ears and head. Now I can't listen to this. Maybe it's the continuous high pitch nasal sound?
ОтветитьWhat about the guns the badguys no longer need?
ОтветитьWhen diesel engines run out of fuel, they won't start until the engine is primed.
ОтветитьEMP Shift. END OF THE World God is Still Watching if Someone Ask for Food Give them Food.
ОтветитьAnd When the water pressure Dies Water Heaters still Have Water in it. Just open bottom Water Valve on Bottom of Heater presto Water.
ОтветитьSecond time through the series
ОтветитьAn EMPfrom the Sun would not damage phones or cars, only anEMP from a weapon would do that
ОтветитьI've just discovered this book after completing another book series from another author I've always enjoyed these kinds of books especially EMP attack theories I already completed the one second after one year after in the final day book Trio is this the only book written by this author it says book one are there other books? It's going to be a while before I pick up any more audiobooks online from my favorite authors want to know if I can continue with this book series until I can get my CD books from Amazon also are these books by this author available on CD anywhere so I don't have to complete my data usage on my phone
ОтветитьShe works in a basement, her cellphone isn't plugged in. No window in her cubicle. I'm thinking her cellphone would be OK. Anything plugged in would be toast
ОтветитьOh thank GOD the smart people were all carry/concealing....pfffft who wrote this garbage, the NRA?
ОтветитьAwesome. So much better than listening to the ones that have AI doing the reading. Love it.
ОтветитьWeather reports, just another thing I take for granted
ОтветитьI'm one and a half hours in this book wouldn't be that bad with a few tweaks and a different narrator
ОтветитьThis was Awesome! Thanks... I look forward to more! 😃
ОтветитьEnjoyed the pandemic series alot more. I think its best to get another narrator. It sounded like an AI was narrating. I know im critiquing, but, eh.
ОтветитьChapter 19 he pulled back the handle and put one in the barrel. He should have had one in the chamber (barrel) when he took it out of the safe . Always see that in movies and tv no one has one in the chamber till they have the gun pulled on the other person. Not even soldiers
ОтветитьThis my second time listening to this book. I love this story. I was on pins and needles just waiting just to hear more. Thank you Christine for such a wonderful story. You are so amazing.
ОтветитьLoving this. So well written.
ОтветитьThe comments are a bit confusing, is this not the book I'm supposed to start with?
ОтветитьIf this guy drives off in the only running vehicle for miles after dark I’m not going to be happy. Alex wouldn’t make it far.
ОтветитьGreat book! Can't believe I got to listen to it for free!
Very realistic and full of lessons for if SHTF!
You get to learn from the character's successes and failures so you don't make them yourself.
Oh they took Tamara. I know and just leave their friend behind. You don't want to be a member of this group, as they are too naive.
ОтветитьEmily gasp that he pulled a gun out in self defense. Oh man. The horror. She would rather die then use a gun. Who wrote this nonsense.
ОтветитьI am out. The main characters are to naive and the author's writing seems to indicate an anti-gun stance.
ОтветитьLets go get Tamara back from armed men with no plan. This book should be a Comedy.
ОтветитьShe knew Eric was a good person. Because he wore clean jeans. This is to funny.

ОтветитьMy closest to home job was 35 miles. Normally i worked further away. I kept a seven day bag in my vehicle with arctic gear. I told my husband my routes home and if i didn't make it in 7 days i wasnt coming home.
Since moving to the mountains and retiring, ive made changes to the bag for mountain survival and 7 days RME's for 2 people.
You never know.
