Where is Scott Turbowski? 🥺
ОтветитьSo I guess the new 2022 WRX Sti is going to be a hatchback...?
ОтветитьWhat were the plastic bags on the struts about?
Ответитьdune running? are you sure about that?
ОтветитьWow the paint on that press car looks terrible. Needs a 3 to 5 grand paint correction and maybe some new tires and brakes. At least being a press car it has not been abused..🤔
ОтветитьHoly crap the suspension has serious rust on it. How old is that car ?
ОтветитьDo you think the chances are pretty high that the 2022 STi with the FA24 will become its best version - retaining its purity of driving while gaining a modern engine?
ОтветитьNow that is how you end a car video......
ОтветитьWhy did Subaru get rid of the unequal length headers? everyone thinks the "boxer" engine is what gave Subaru that unique sound in the 90's and 2000's when in fact it was the unequal length headers. all Subaru impreza's use the same Ej boxer engine now and they don't sound anything like the burble they used . Anyone know why they changed?
ОтветитьCan’t see the problem - I’m 70 yo and just bought a new WRX - should be fun! 😎
ОтветитьThank you for a fantastic review of my new 2021 STI (non-Series White). It replaced my 2013 STI and it's amazing. Interior design/layout and build quality are far superior, NO rattles, ride quality is noticeably improved and it looks way more aggressive. Keep giving us your phenomenal video reviews!
ОтветитьAside from extremely dated and known engine reliability issues, gas economy is 'unforgivable' considering performance level of this car. Hard pass. Yes, fun to drive.
Solution: Honda Civic Type R...a better, more reliable car for the same money.
The stock shifter bushing causes the shifting " Lockout " . Once you remove it and see the design...you'll understand. Solid bushing is a must.
ОтветитьSubaru always give what you need... performance with the best 4wd and reliability.
ОтветитьThat's the difference when you have power and this power actually is delivered on 4 wheels...
ОтветитьLOVE my Type RA but like you I do not like the high release of the clutch on all the STIs. I found out tho that if you disable the Hill Assist the clutch releases like it should close to the floor. Also means less drag on the clutch because the brakes aren't trying to hold the car while releasing the clutch. Makes for a whole new driving experience and now launches smoothly and predictably. Thanks for you fun and informative videos!!
ОтветитьI just bought my 3rd STI. Yes, they are pretty good.
ОтветитьI test drove one at carmax and had no idea what the different modes meant so i was driving in sport sharp, and about did a burnout out of the lot because it immediately wanted to take off on me with just a small amount of gas and the heavy high clutch.
ОтветитьThese cars are junk
They always need engine rebuilds
rheumatoid arthritis
ОтветитьI bought my Series. White brand new right at 2 years ago and I have loved every minute of it. On the tail of the dragon it really shines. The 90s Japanese car feel is the main reason I picked the STI over the competition, I love the transmission and the steering.
Ответить“I need a selfie” lmao.
ОтветитьHey Geese, what's your picture profile when filming, if you don't mind me asking? Do you use slog etc.?
ОтветитьIf this is a “Everything wrong with the sti” Video then title it that. Sway bars, Aftermarket suspension, arms, Just the aftermarket support is better with the normal sti than a stock type ra or s209 for a cheaper price
ОтветитьAnnnnnd it died! RiP STI :(
ОтветитьComplains about cars having no feel
Gets a car with feel
Oh it's not smooth enough
😶
I want a series grey I think the series white is kinda stupid because they already come in white they should’ve did a series yellow
ОтветитьI'm looking to upgrade to my first enthusiast car. Should I get a 2017 STi, 2017 370Z, or just buy a new 2022 BRZ?
ОтветитьRally inspired rear link
ОтветитьThis look so much more appealing on the eyes then the current 2022.
ОтветитьMan the throttle struggle is real. I HATE how once you're past 25% you might as well be at WOT. Worth getting a pro tune just to remove the stock throttle map.
ОтветитьStill think my 21 STi base is best car I've ever owned. 2nd best was my 05 STi.
ОтветитьCdif is also a disease where you shit yourself to death. No joke!
ОтветитьThe video title is kinda ironic now
ОтветитьIf you buy it new it comes with a vape pen in the glovebox free of charge. Just kidding, I drive a 2019 WRX and it's a blast. I honestly love the mechanical feel and sounds of the car the most. The boxer engine is something I can listen to forever it seems. Maybe that's just my honeymoon phase talking since I recently bought it, but there's something about driving this car that I viscerally enjoy.
ОтветитьSo as a self-tuner who also does their own base maps etc-the throttle issues you see with modern cars in terms of driver perception of pedal to throttle blade linearity aren’t programming issues per say that you can blame different makers for. This has to do with not only the need for reliability of a car but due to the limitations of an actual throttle blade system not being linear to begin with, combined with all the changes to timing and afr and boost control in a turbo car every second the loading changes when you are transitioning theough different states of engine management operations as far as open loop/closed loop vs boost/vaccum vs the different afr needs under those various conditions. Without putting a lot of protections in those systems you would see probably 60-70% of turbo vehicles sold being brought back with blown engines in the first week. Subaru EJ’s want it richer than just about any other engine and they run more timing advance than nearly any engines. An EJ can want a 10AFR and over 50 degrees of timing advance.
Something I learned when I was doing Evans Performance Academy is that towards the end of a throttle blade’s travel like say above 70-80% throttle there is actually very very little change in the amount of air flow over that final 20-30% of throttle travel. This is apparent if you look at a good tune on virtually any modern car.
This leads to manufacturers doing odd things with the electronic throttle actuation. Also on turbocharged cars (especially ones that want it as rich afr wise as an EJ) there is transient throttle tip in enrichment to consider as well. The fact that these are road cars operated by untrained people means that companies (especially with cars that have this amount of physical grip) need to protect the longevity of their engines. Think of an untrained normal driver hammering on an EJ under near full boost at 10.5:1 afr at say 80% throttle pedal under full boost conditions and the untrained driver in the space of 4 seconds in and out of a corner might move the throttle pedal from 80% then snap the throttle back shut a bit to 65% and then to 75% then 5% then wot 100% all in the space of one corner- do you have any idea the amount of things happening in a turbocharged engine during that situation? You just asked for boost then vented boost then asked for more and commanded 9 different afr’s all while trying to prevent lean conditions or failing emissions 😂. The problems we see with modern car’s throttle pedal not being connected enough with the actual travel of the throttle is due just in a small part to the stuff I mentioned in my scatterbrained manor.
P.S. donut blew up all those EJ’s because they kept running new engines with old parts that had touched the bering material contaminated oil from the first engine that they blew at the 120f desert racetrack during what was supposed to be it’s break in period. If you blow a subaru up (i never have) you have to change any parts that touched oil. This includes the oil pan, the oil lines, the oil cooler, THE CAMS (subie cams are hollow if you have AVCS aka vtec), a common thing people will do is put old heads back on a brand new $5000 EJ shortblock and they don’t even realize that the cams themselves or the evcs solenoids or the center section of the turbo etc had a little nook or crannie with metal shavings hiding out from their last failure. Combine this with donut having zero clue how to build or modify a boxer subie at a death valley racetrack (the worst possible conditions for any car, especially a turbocharged one)
"Ooh my , I need a selfie"😂😂😂
Ответить😂😂😂😂😂 this guy is too funny😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьWhy do those truck guys hate us?😂🤣
Ответитьwhy complain on plastic interior bits? its expensive but that is a japanese car its not a jaguar or ferrari thats why cars are getting expensive because of such remarks
ОтветитьI live in Houston and have a 2020 STI that I bought 3 years ago brand new. My car has the least power between my son’s TypeR and my wife’s RCF but I just love my car more every time I drive their cars. My car just feels perfect for me. I’m 60 years old and I just love the pure raw feeling that the STI gives me. I love driving it when the weather is less than ideal for most cars. Thunder storms with 1 or 2 inches of water on the road is where my car feels invincible. I almost traded it in for an RCF but changed my mind when I drove my wife’s RCF in the rain. My son’s type r is really fast as heck but it does not have the soul of an STI.
ОтветитьI was just going to throw this on in the background while doing schoolwork, but you guys always manage to steal my attention.
Ответитьwould you take this over the type r (fk8)?
ОтветитьThose are the rims and break caliber color I wish the regular STI had.
ОтветитьAnyone know which bilstien struts came with the car , b6 or b8
ОтветитьA red interior would have been a better choice by the designers of STI but it would have add more to the overall price tag. White brake calipers look great on the showroom floor but in reality not practical at all. A rear lower-defuser would be nice to bring back too with some canards for maximum downforce.
