Another great production. Thanks for the very interesting trip back in time once again. I never get tired of aircraft history, and aviation and aerospace in general. Keep up the Great narratives. Beats A I anytime .lol
ОтветитьIt should have been noted that Italy exported the Z.501. The Romanian Flotila de Hidroaviație operated CANT Z.501s throughout the war.
Ответитьlooks like a pby
ОтветитьPilot: "I'd give an arm and limb to fly that plane"
Engineer: "Check"
Seems like a lot for that one engine
ОтветитьWhat a cant!
ОтветитьApology not accepted on behalf the of Italian people by offending us by not pronouncing Italian tiltles, names, words and other terms properly as they should be pronounced. So, here is a hint, that you Brits properly either learn how to or something you couldn't think of, either get somebody that can pronunce Italian titles, names, words and other terms as they should be! or just get an Italian, Italian born, Italian citizen that can't offend his own.
ОтветитьI guess they tried a hands-off approach to flying… 😅
Ответитьi wonder if they could have stuck a prop with more but shorter blades
the pilot's vision wouldn't be hindered by it anyway
CANT, as in "I CANT land this thing"
ОтветитьRex....................any , do you have any idea of what you're talking about? we can all google the technical data, but where did you get the historical data? also why do non english poeple have to learn to speak english to deal with you english people, but you english people can't learn how to pronouce italian words? GO and learn the language you want to criticise first, then try to do this with proper data.
ОтветитьI wonder if there are any diagrams of how the propellor did its amputations, can’t quite make the picture work in my head.
ОтветитьThis ride will cost a leg and an arm
ОтветитьLooks like a Ghibli design, in fact I'm sure they used a funked up version of this in Porcco Rosso
ОтветитьStrangely, it appears that the Savoia was piloted by ...a headless cow.
ОтветитьC A N T point on the Problem
ОтветитьHold my beer. Wait….
ОтветитьJust buy a dornier Do J wal
ОтветитьIf Walmart sold the Catalina... it would actually be a CANT Z.501.
Ответитьi hope this gets added to war thunder eventually
ОтветитьRecent subscriber and enjoying your work, but I do have one piece of (hopefully) constructive criticism. When discussing things like the propensity of the plane to inflict injuries on its own crew, or that it was clearly vulnerable to enemy AC and AAA, please add some detail. So many WW2 historical sayings are not accurate, but have been carried on through the years as if they are fact. The Sherman tank myths, the “whole nine yards”, German Ju.390 flying within vision of NYC, and so on. Some statistics on crew injuries and losses to enemy action may be difficult to find, but are out there somewhere. It just lends credence to the video and helps ensure we don’t pass on erroneous assumptions.
Love the focus on a little known plane and all the great footage! Thanks.
Well, that's one way to say that you just CANT land without losing your arm.
ОтветитьOff brand pby
ОтветитьGreat work Sir thank you
ОтветитьGreat video! My grandpa worked in the factories that produced these, in the Monfalcone shipyards. He was 15 at the time and he told me they got bombed quite often by the americans.
ОтветитьItalian designer's style always Trumps performance or safety. Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Lamborghini continue the craft 2 this day...
ОтветитьA pilot no longer in need of gloves….. “Are you sure this thing is called a C.A.N.T. ?”
Ответить🙏🙏
Ответить"The pilot wont be flying this plane again... not anymore"
ОтветитьOf the six examples of the U.S.-made Fleetwings Seabird, one experienced an engine-mount failure resulting in the loss of the pilots' feet. Only one example was recently reported still flying, hopefully after having the engine-mount issue resolved. In fact besides two upright "V" struts on either side, the nacelle is secured to the top of the wing by a single rear strut projecting diagonally downward and back. The 300-hp Jacobs engine is held back solely by this steel strut.
ОтветитьSir, i don t want to drive a seaplane, i have a fear of drowning!
Don’t worry boy! You won’t have the time to drow
you are like forgotten weapons for planes
ОтветитьGood thing Baloo from tailspin got the forerunner Z.506
ОтветитьIt reminds me of the car that Homer Simpson designed.
ОтветитьIt's Italian, they are experts at making planes that can break records but are completely useless at the best of times and quite literally inoperable at their worst.
ОтветитьThis has to be a strong contender for the ugliest aircraft ever made.
ОтветитьNot sure what the glide capabilities of the aircraft are but I'd think the pilots that knew about the prop problem would cut their engine just before landing so as not to fail at the adage "any landing you can walk away from".
ОтветитьRemind’s me a lot of Germany’s Mistel program
ОтветитьWhy did it have .303 machine guns??? That’s a British cartridge. Why not 6.5 carcano the Italian round???
ОтветитьMaybe it was the name CAN'T like the Chevy Nova which in Spanish means, NO GO!?
ОтветитьItaly's aircraft were often inadequate while several were outstanding. One fighter was inspected by the Germans but was declined as they might build some four BF109 for the effort of building one. One great performing twin engined civil plane was taken for conversion to military use. When loaded with sufficient fuel, radio gear, heavier landing gear guns, crew, and bombs, It needed to takeoff towards it's targets to perform it's mission.
Ответить0.53: The "substitute" float plane was the Caproni Ca.111 Idro.
Ответить"Trieste shit building and aviation"... nailed it!
ОтветитьDid anyone ever move the controls to the upper nacelle and remove the lower hull all together?
ОтветитьThe machine gun nest on the engine must of been super hot. I imagine it vibrated pretty terribly as well.
ОтветитьITALY N1 IN PLANE DESIGN!!!! WE MAKE BEST PLANE!!!!!!
ОтветитьWell, that doesn`t sound very practical.
ОтветитьThat is sooo cool!!! A plane with automated weight reduction!
