I always thought Nier is asexual(maybe not aromantic, seeing as he did kiss Kainé during ending C but that mustn't mean romantic attraction), because he never seems to care for "that sort of thing". When he gets advanced upon(which happens like three times in game) he always refuses, and he never talks about his own romantic or sexual endeavours or goals. So I interpret his comments less as him being very sex casual to him trying to understand the situation, so to speak.
