Turning off the VPN worked for me. Try that first if you have it connected.

if you are reading this in 2023. uninstall Avast antivirus worked for me when nothing else would. i could cast from my phone but not my pc because Avast was blocking all casting.

After installing speakers they worked for several months. Then stopped. Not shown on media devices and other computers did not show up either. After applying all the fixes listed it worked, for one day and then unable to find streaming devices and they do not show up as media devices in networks. My laptop and other computer do not have this problem. No idea what has changed although the desktop does have SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support turned off after some updates.

Let's face it , Windows has more problems than Stevie Wonder doing a "Three point Turn" in a car

Jesus Christ after several days I finally fixed it. If nothing seems to work try this:
1. Search for "Device Manager"
2. Check your Network adapters
3. See if "Wifi Direct" devices are disabled. If so activate them.
(3.1. If they are activated, try to reinstall the driver)

I didn't have to do any of that. I was having problems. I have Windows 11, 64 bit and a Roku TV. GPU is a 1660 Super from Nvidia/Geforce.
My problem was I didn't use the antennas. Once I did. I rebooted Windows and system reset Roku and I'm good to go.
